PC version delayed by 3 months to add DX11 support.
*Yawn* It'll probably be another 1.5 years from Dec 2009 before most gamers will have any reason to give a damn.

The fusion of DirectX 11 with Codemasters' EGO™ Engine will raise the technical bar considerably in the racing genre.”
With the introduction of Microsoft Windows 7, DirectX 11 will be made available both as part of the operating system and as a downloadable update to Windows Vista. Codemasters intends to immediately take advantage of DirectX 11 features that add to the realism of the racing environment. Hardware tessellation will further improve the appearance of water and other surfaces as well as crowd animations.
The shader performance of Shader Model 5.0 (SM 5.0) will aid in creating an even richer 3D experience, enhancing key image quality parameters such as depth of field, ambient occlusion and shadows. These DirectX 11 features, and many others, will add the horsepower needed to improve performance.

How much of an improvement over DirectX 10 is DirectX 11 going to be? Specifically; performance, efficiency, and eye-candy. Thanks.

The key attraction to DX11 performance and efficiency, from what I gather.
GPGPU mapping is the next big thing. The usage of DX11's Compute Shader 5.0 will likely be adopted by the entire industry, which neither OpenCL nor Nvidia's CUDA have managed to do thus far (and we all knew that this was going to be the case).
Modern GPU stream processor architecture is more efficient than that of CPUs, on paper. Reportedly you can do complex tasks such as physics calculation noticeably faster on GPUs than with CPUs.

improved shader performance?? Oh boy!
I'm more interested in the game's handling of its namesake: apparently DIRT 2 is going to be a big tribute to McRae, with memorial cups and reminiscing by other famous rally drivers. Codemasters could've easily abandoned the name or else downplayed its significance; I'm glad to see they're utilizing the licence more appropriately.
