That's a strange thing to say.

I take it you're not a fan of the series?

Well laying off the staff now isn't gonna change the game, is it? It is what it is. Not that I care much, I think the whole thing went downhill after Tiberian Sun.
Anyway, TS for free is good news.

How to explain C&C4... It's basically like if, say, Eidos actually decided to release Project Snowblind as Deus Ex 3 and called it the epic conclusion to the Deus Ex series.

This. I don't care about C&C/RA since C&C3, atmosphere is gone, they made post-Westwood games as 'conveyor-like' as they could. Tons of generic and unimpressive units just for the sake of pseudo-diversity, I used maybe 10-20% of them, others were simply useless. I still remember how nicely each unit was presented in Westwood's C&C/RA, they all had their use. Music became 100 times worse too, as well as videos.

I remember a major issue with the free release of Red Alert was that it was just an ISO dump, it wasn't prepped to play on modern machines, like how Remedy took GOG-esque pains to re-release a functional version of (
http://www.remedygames.com/games/death_rally.html) Death Rally. Is that the story here, too?

Eidos has to be one of the most annoying publishers. Project Snowblind was a pretty good game though, they got the gameplay right. But the rest... kept hoping for something Deus-Esque. The end was just wtf I thought I got my Deus-esque moment when the enemy makes a speech of how painful it all is.
'let me take it all away'

C&C 3 was good though and the expansion excellent. Red Alert 3 was fuckin terrible though. How they could mess up the great thing they had going with that series *sobs*. Man RA2 rocked and Yuri`s Revenge even more so.

Project Snowblind is one of those games where I played through the entire thing and was obvoiusly so impressed by it that I can barely remember the game at all any more.
