Finished on Wasabi in 49 minutes. This is a fun mission, even though there is is no loot and there are no journals to read. Gameplay revolves around lobbing mines at enemies and around finding buttons that open doors to new areas. The concept of having an infinite amount of mines but no other weapons was interesting. The architecture in Mine Shock is above average: The rooms are detailed, the textures are choosen well, and there are lots of little details like air vents, windows or decorative objects. JIS was a talented mission designer.
I got a bit unlucky when the grey key in the room above the elevator got sent flying by an explosion to a corner where I could not see it - without me realizing it was even there. I got stuck and had to look up hints in this thread. Thanks to smithpd for posting this can happen. I finally got the grey key by blind-frobbing every corner in the room. If that had not happened, I would have been able to finish the mission without hints.
One thing I noticed is: I had 13 healing potions and 16 speed potions at the end. During the playthrough, I used none, because I lured enemies to safe spots where they could not get to me and by reloading each time something went wrong. But it is certainly thoughtful of JIS (or Vlad Midnight) to provide tools to players who want to attempt to finish Mine Shock without reloads.
My gratitude goes to:
JIS - for creating the mission
Vlad Midnight - for finishing the mission
voodoo47 - for fixing the mission for NewDark
fortuni - for uploading the NewDark fix
