Confess! Games you play on easy. - by Bucky Seifert

I've played TFTD more times than I can I remember and I've never had that happen.
The last time I did call center work (about 4 years ago) I snuck Dosbox onto my work PC there and tried a playthrough on normal. By the 3rd mission I got a terror mission on a large boat. I'd only just researched sonic grenades but even with those the game threw about 30 or so lobstermen, and a couple of those mini flying ufo ships. Thats just fucking crazy for that early in the game. Somehow I beat them (save scuming ftw) only to discover that I'd only beaten the first stage of it. I never did finish that mission due to the job finishing, but for that second stage it started in a elevator shaft. Got ambushed by about 10 lobstermen. Absolute chaos. Nearly none of the civilians survived the first stage besides a small corner I was able to hanker down and protect. The rest of the ship was supremely fucked over due to all the explosions.
Was still enjoyable in a Dark Souls-ish kinda way.

He means it happened in the first game. And yeah, the lobstermen are ridiculously tough at early stages.

While we're on X-COM, the only time I ever beat the original game was when I used a hack that took out the mind control abilities of the Etherals >.>

>> The first 4 games are more "Jacob's Ladder" inspired than anything.
Yes, that's right. Jacob's ladder and Lynch were cited as influences.
>> SH4's unkillable ghosts are also a goddamn irritation, but I would've been okay with them if the rest of the game was good enough to offset that -- it wasn't.
I never got far into SH4 but since it's Team Silent's last output I figure it's worth another go, even if this one is much more combat heavy than the previous ones.

I disagree on SH4. The first half of the game is quite good overall and has an excellent premise of being stuck in your apartment with no apparent way out. The second half is where it all goes to shit.

I played Space Rangers HD on normal difficulty a few months back, but found that at the later stages of the game, I simply do not have enough money to adequately repair my ship, and nobody wants to give me any courier missions any more, so I am left with combat missions that my damaged ship is ill-equipped for. If I could be bothered to replay that one, I would definitely lower the difficulty to easy.

I got made fun of (eh lo el dethtoll) for noclipping Portal 2. I honestly played it for the story and atmosphere, so if a puzzle got too frustrating, it's better than ragequitting.

All of the Wing Commander games I played with god mode on (toggle-able in the options screen of all of the games). I tried playing normal but died too often, and once the series jumped into FMV territory I was more playing it for the story than anything else.
Wing Commander, like Command and Conquer and Tex Murphy is an example of fantastic FMV's which completely transforms the games into a more movie-like (in a good way) experience.
The first Syndicate game I used to always play with the "Cooper Team" cheat of sorts, where if you entered that as your Syndicate name, then you started off with a all female team, money maxed, everything researched and your team equipped to the max both with augmentations and weapons. Nowadays though I don't do that anymore.

agreed, SH4 is underrated and gets a bit too much flack.
I remember SH3 had a ton of increasing difficulty levels and I got pretty far up, and I'm not a skilled gamer by any means.

Nothing wrong with playing on easy. Also nothing wrong with watching an LP so you don't have to waste your time purchasing, downloading, setting up, and playing through a game you're just going to cheat through anyway.
ps don't @ me in the future thx
