So, any updates from fan mission authors participating here? When can we expect the first missions?
The contest was due to end on 28th February but I think that's now being extended. All missions are released at once and I think we get a month to play and vote.
I haven't forgotten about the poll, FireMage.

So,
We are in the making phase. Listening to you I'll grant two weeks. The end of the current phase will be at the 14th March then. ^^ It must be enough to make sure that you'll have time to create, complete and betatest your missions ;)
After this date, I'll change nothing. All missions will be published by me at the same time, I'll just need your download links.
Then Two weeks to let players playing missions and authors to fix the last bugs. After it will be the voting phase, authors will be not able to update their missions if they still contain bugs and people will be able to vote with a poll their favorite one. ;)

And I can confirm that a poll is no problem for Al_B to do but obviously can't be done until all submissions are in and we have the mission titles.

Don't worry Nickie! ;)
Everything will be sent to you at time! ^^ Because the poll will be made during the voting phase, you'll be aware of the missions title before it creation during the gaming/fixing phase just before!
Because all contestant must send me their missions at the 14th March. They will be just able to update them during two weeks! ^^

i was just thinking and this contest reminds me of "madlibs" a classic american word game where you fill in the blanks, but in this contest you get the words for the blanks and get to fill in the story, great idea
i look real forward to playing these missions

Thanks, FireMage. I expect we'll be able to do the poll as we've done previously and make it possible for people to change their vote up until it closes. And also a space for comments which I think is important too for feedback about the missions.

One thought, I'm running pretty far behind at the moment, not sure if others are too. How about having a two week period of time (starting March 14th), where authors can finish and publish their own mission? The authors who are ready to go can release right on March 14th, and the rest can finish up testing and squash any last minute bugs over the following two weeks.
The idea here is that players can't play 10-12 missions immediately anyway, so maybe it's better to spread the releases out over a couple of weeks. I think we did this for one of the Reloaded contests, and it worked pretty well.
Again, only speaking for myself, but I'll be out of town during the first week of March, and by the time I get back, there will only be 5 days left til the deadline. I know a lot of people, or even their kids, have Spring Break around this time of year, so maybe a little more flexibility would be good.

The gaming/fixing period is a bit like the idea you're submitting. It's just that the missions are released during the period, but it can be although updated. If a mission is not finished, the author can just mention it. ^^
This is just necessary to prepare moderators to create the poll ;)
And a way to help author who fear to do not respect the deadline to have a chance to release something correct before the voting phase!

Well, made some huge progress on my mission this weekend, went from about 200 brushes to almost 900. It's a Bonehoard type mission in T2, done Thief Gold style. Strictly stock textures to give you that old school feel. So much to do yet, it's going to be pushing it to make the deadline, but I'm hoping posting here will keep me motivated to do so. This is probably the furthest I've gotten on an unreleased missions to date, so I'm optimistic it will get released one way or another at some point in the next few months.
