and by tiny, she means tiny it's about the size of a coin in-game, or smaller.

Same thing happened to me. I've only had a 10% success rate. The times I did win the solution was a combination of just two colors. Well, with anything as complicated as MM there's bound to be serious bugs. But I think this is the first FM to feature a blue room larger than the mission itself.

Why aren't there more snow missions? CL3, T7C, Shining Standard.... what have I overlooked?

telliamed- I more a fan of fog and rain myself. ;)
I think you're forgetting a very big snow mission, Crom's Blade.

Thanks for the tips, I guess I was not patient enough in searching...
I had no problems with Mind Master here, everything seemed to work fine.

Okay a ton of people have been having problems getting mind master to work! Myself included. I tried the full fresh install of Thief2 and it didn't work, however I realized I made one extra move. I installed a downloaded Thief2.exe file to by pass the CD-ROM check (I am not very organized and often can't find the CD in the mess - but want to play bad!) Long story short - I replaced Thief2.exe back with the original and inserted my CD, and the game worked perfectly!! It was pretty cool too! My guess is that there are numerous people who have a "patched" version of thief2.exe that doesn't require a CD check. This is the problem! (or at least it was for me). Try reinstalling the original Thief2.exe file and digging out that hidden, scratched CD of yours and play this great mission! Thanx

I'm using the noCD thing and didn't have any problems playing MindMaster.
I do have to say, this contest has yielded a great crop of missions. It's just amazing to me that so much gameplay can be stuffed into so little space. I thought 40^3 would be way too small to do anything useful, but some of these missions seemed much larger than that.
Voting will be difficult with so much to choose from.

You're right about the quality of the missions, epithumia. I'd like to thank the all people who made them. They're terrific and I've had a lot of fun playing them. I'm going to have to go and replay a handful of them before I can place my votes, because I like them all so much, it's hard to decide. Great work! :)

About Mind Master - I have a patched T2, but I still have a habit of putting my CD in. Truelly, Mind Master works fine over here, I don't have any problems at all. I love this mission, it's simple, it's fun, it's a great concept! I play it over and over again and I luv to hear this "Hmmm, hmm, let me see.... hmm hmmm"
I noticed one small thing, which might have been corrected. Small thing, but still... If I know the solution, because there is only one combination left, I set it up and instead of pressing the button, I open the thing and take a peep at what he has. Instead of "Mission successful" I get a skull thing on my screen. :) I think it shouldn't be so... Also sometimes I do that, when there are 2 combinations left and I feel like being a gambler a little. :)
Also, what do you think is the easiest way of guessing? I put all 4 slots with the same colour and press the button. I leave whatever is right and change the rest to one other colour etc... Usually these are like 4-5 hits and I get it. But this is easy and dumb approach. I usually start with all 4 slots as different colours. This requires more combination crunching and is more of a challenge for your mind. And how do you approach it?
Yeah, all the Contest missions are great and I enjoy immensly playing them all. I will surely vote, it will be difficult to make a final choice. The Contest is a superb idea and an opportunity to see what kind of missions people come up with and what ideas people toss in their heads.
Yesterday, I played "After the Party", which is sweet. A nice idea, I loved all the sleeping people. :) I couldn't finish the mission, there must be some look I didn't find. Argh!

Jericho - In After the Party, did you find
a tiny ring behind a chair? It's the hardest piece to locate.
The easy approach is not necessarily a dumb approach. It is perfectly logical to test a color. It is then either part of the solution or eliminated. I used to have the "board" game version of this when I was young and not to brag but I could beat almost anyone I played in very few moves. In that game there were 8 different colors and 6 positions, so you had to eliminate colors or settle in to be there all night (but you had a max of 10 tries). So I was very excited to see that this mission was based on that game but dissapointed when it didn't work for me. I realize it is not the authors fault because many have gotten it to work just fine. If a "cure" is found, I plan to play is mission often, and I think that it could have BIG stand alone shareware applications.
I don't know if I have the patched version of T2 or not. I HAVE to put the CD in very time I play. And, at least for me, the "winning" color combination has been the same every time I have played. Could the Gayle Saver scripts have been a factor? Grasping at straws here. I should let the techies work this out huh?
