like a dumbass i deleted my old control setup files for thief 1 and 2. i installed thief 2 the other day to play some FMs, but here's the thing.
for walking, i use w. for running, i use rightmouse. for sneaking, i press shift then w.
or at least, i used to. the problem is, i can no longer walk at a normal speed unless i hold down shift. it used to be the other way around. it's highly annoying, and i was wondering if there was some way to fix it.

What exactly does the game call "Shift + w" ? Is it "walk forward slowly"?
I went through the same thing a week ago, and I found that setting "creep" (assuming you're in T2, since I think it's much easier to set up controls in TDP/TG) to the shift key solved my problems. That way, w is still on my forward motion, and holding shift will slow me down.
Does that work? I stumbled through half of Running Interference before I figured it out :o. If it doesn't, we'll try again!

that's the problem. creep and walk are reversed.

I think I had this problem. Try playing with caps lock on or rebinding with caps lock off.
