What OS are you using? I remember having tons of trouble getting GFWL updated in XP, but in Win7-64 I just downloaded the GFWL installer and it's worked about as well as it can.

I've had them in XP 32 and 7 now. Pretty much the same each time. Although I must have made an offline profile on the old machine. I forgot about that this time. Now it won't let me make one until I've logged into my online account, by which point it crashes.
(unless I've missed some button somewhere. I doubt it since it only shows one profile and I can't get past that login screen to look at menus or anything).
In any case, maybe I'll try again after the rage has died down.

That should add the Marketplace, which you need to download addons, the latest version of GFWL, and the Windows Live Sign-In Assistant service that has to be running for GFWL games to work. AFAIK if you log into the Marketplace and save your username/password it will automatically fill out your credentials in GFWL from within games. At least, that's how it worked for me when I updated my password recently.

I picked up BioShock 2 for $8 on sale a few weeks ago..Can't install the damn thing either..And can't be bothered to search online for the fixes either (got shit to do)..I'm cutting my losses at this point i think.
