Ah okay, gotcha.;) I look forward to your final version and the .bin file. That is, if you're going to give me one. If not, since I know how to convert it I could do that part. Also, yep, I just opened the rev. in blender a few minutes ago. Lookin' good.
Also, I should clarify. The corn stalk looks the right size in blender, but when I imported it into dromed it's scale was very small for some reason so I had to increase it myself.

Really, if you can export it yourself, I'll just hand off the final .blend and let you take that last step. Being able to tweakl the final results to your own tastes would likely net you corn you'll be happier with.
...plus you'll learn something

I don't have too much experience with it, but the Blender exporter shoots out the results as is. If it's the right size in Blender, it'll be the right size in Dromed. Though if 3ds2bin is able to convert doublesided materials without any tweaking or stacking on extra polys, I might look into using it for certain objects. It might be due to my lack of experience with it, but setting up doublesized polygons with the Blender exporter always ups my polycount tremendously.
Also, you can tell if they're doublesided or not by looking at the leaves. If they disappear when you look at them from certain angles, then they're not doublesided. It's a little hard to tell from your shot, but it looks like you're good on that front.

If an object is scaled in Blender, it'll be un-scaled when you export it. Press N in the 3d view to toggle the Properties toolbar and you'll see a set of Scale fields. If the three values are not all 1, that could be the cause of the problem.
The solution is to apply the scale in Blender. Select the object, press Ctrl A (or Object menu > Apply) and select 'Scale'.

No worries Renz, I'll do it.:o
As for the plant, I was walking around it earlier and with my manual up-scale of it, I saw the top most leaves disappearing at a certain angle. When exporting from 3ds to bin, on the left side of the GUI there's "Scale" and it is set to 0.10,0.10,0.10. I left that alone. Perhaps I should have switched it to 0,0,0? Perhaps the scale isn't being applied as R Soul is suggesting.
Edit:
I did as you said R Soul, and the values were 1.00, 1.00, 1.00 under the Scale portion of the toolbar. However, it also told me the dimensions of the plant and now I'm pretty much certain that it is 3ds to bin's fault. Or rather, it's my fault for not changing the scaling in 3ds to bin and leaving it as it was when I opened the program.

Hold up, I'll give you a quick visual example...
What RSoul's talking about is the weird scaling Blender does when you scale, rotate, or move something outside of edit mode. Don't ask me why it does this, but it does, and it's easily fixed.
(
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3018396/blencorn_1.jpg) Notice the scale setting on the menu to the right. 1.491 (hit N to bring that up, by the way). That should read 1.0. Exporting it as is will give you smaller corn, because it's not actually scaled to that size.
(
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3018396/blencorn_2.jpg) What you want to do is hit Ctrl+A, bring up this menu, and select "scale". That'll make the current size it's new default. Go ahead and run down the whole list if you want to, it won't hurt nothing. And if it does for some odd reason, just hit ctrl+z to undo it.
(
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3018396/blencorn_3.jpg) Once you're done, the menu on the right will look like this
Confusing? Yeah, it is. It only does this when you're in object mode. Scaling, rotating, moving, cutting, whatever in edit mode won't require you to do this. If you want to remove that extra step, hit tab to switch to edit mode (you'll see all the vertices pop up and a black wireframe overlaying your model), then hit A to select the entire object, then hit S to scale it up. While in here, you can do whatever without having to reset anything.
Weird, but like I said, easily fixed.
Once you get the hang of this, I'll show you how to set your leaves to another material so you can make them doublesided without having to do the stalk in the center.

That is weird. Mine was already set to 1.0, I'm assuming you meant I need to change it to 1.491. I'll re-export it and see what happens. Sorry, it took me a bit to understand your post but I think I see what you mean now. Yeah it is confusing, especially considering after I hit apply it went back to 1.00, 1.00,1.00 :erg:
Renzatic on 12/12/2012 at 00:35
Pretty much. And yeah, it's goofy. 99% of the time, I do everything in edit mode, so I never have to deal with it. As a newbie, it will confuse the shit out of you.
Ack, you ninja edited it on me. Location should always read 0.0 all the way down, rotation should be 0's, and scale 1.0. If you export it with anything else, it'll send out the model as it's "natural" size and position.
sNeaksieGarrett on 12/12/2012 at 00:51
I re-exported after changing the scale in blender and it is still small as I thought. I need to change the Scale setting in 3ds to bin, since it's automatically scaling it down for dromed. (I know the model changed because the values are slightly larger this time.)
Edit: Okay, fixed it. I'm now getting a reading in dromed for the corn stalk of D: 3.57, W: 3.74, H: 8.67
R Soul on 12/12/2012 at 00:57
One use of the scale thing is that it's easy to un-resize the object even when you've closed and restarted the program and have thus cleared the undo history. I think the 3ds export script should apply these things (location, rotation and scale) by default because what you see should be what you get.

hey, RSoul, while you're here, you mind if I PM you and ask you a couple of Blender questions?
