If I uninstall Darkloader, will I loose all the fm savegames?

So my game is broken then, because there hasn't been any agent communication at all beyond when I first got my gear. Great, 6 hours wasted on nothing.

Love the receptionist!

Are you absolutely sure you didn't get two masks in your inventory after speaking to Sheam?

Can someone describe more or less precisely what are signs indicating the game became screwed? Any potentially dangerous points etc.
So that every new player would know as soon as possible he/she shouldn't waste time playing it further, but load earlier save instead.

Real simple.
1. Go to the restroom and change into your gear.
2. Contact Sheam. Choose a task.
Now just wait in the bathroom. You should get periodic messages from Steele every few minutes until he says he is finished with his task and taunts you a bit.
If you get this far, then I think its safe to say you don't have the bug.
Conversely, if you don't hear any audio messages for like 10 or 20 minutes, then you have a problem. Reload from before you got your gear and try again.
I'm sure the desingners will chime in and correct any of this if I am wrong.

Could someone tell me where the lightswitch key is? I am replaying on Expert, after almost finishing on Impossible and want to explore the 4th floor fully. Thanks! :cheeky:

Its in one of the rooms on the fourth floor that you can only reach initially by climbing up from the reception/lobby area (where the stairs are) of the 3rd floor.
Proceed to the aformentioned area and
shoot a vine arrow into one of the wooden support beams above and then climb up to a window that opens into a small office. The lightswitch key is on the desk in that office.
I can't tell you offhand which set of windows, but its definitely a window you enter through and NOT the balcony.

elkston, am I right thinking that before one gets his/her gear the game is totally safe?
Also, after getting the gear, until what point in the game Dante keeps to receive periodic transmissions? I.e. after what point the game becomes safe again? I'd like to figure out dangerous period, i.e. at which points in the game one should do hard saves in relation to this bug?
PS: I think you answered last question actually - Steel should finish his tasks and taunt Dante, right?

It's in the office of Cloud's private assistant. If you're in the Mohogany hall (up in the rafters, that is) look to your west. You should see four windows. It's the south two.
