Would someone who has the bug tell me the filesize (in bytes) and date of their gen.osm file?
Does it match this?

Also, where might I find the combination to the safe in the casino's cash room?
I discovered it in
the guard captain's office during my first playthrough. Almost overlooked it, too.

Thank you Dominus! This is what I discovered.
Inline Image:
http://www.digital-nightfall.com/badgen.jpgI know we went through this with convict, but we simply got the osm file wrong. It seems that Gen is the culpret. Please check the filesize of your gen, and if it matches the bad one, download this file - (
http://downloads.ttlg.com/thieffms/T2gen.zip) and let us know if things improve.
Also, it's worth mentioning that this is the
real, true gen.osm file. Some versions of Thief (for whatever reason) shipped with a bad osm. Keep this one forever.

Just finished this great FM. It took me 5 hrs, 59 min. Only found 4189 loot.
I probably would have finished a lot sooner, but I was rushing and didn't notice that I was supposed to use the mask and talk to my partners. Also, next time I will choose the basement, instead of the cameras.
Thanxs Again,
Hope Vincent:cool: :thumb: :D

I am not letting go of my breath until I hear from the others, but I think I can finally hope for the best now.
Even if this completely solves it, we're still going to do a patch and updated version. Since it's silly to update a 310 meg zip on ten different servers for the sake of a 400 K file, we're going to see if we can't get a few more bug fixes in there too, and maybe a few other goodies.

I experienced the bug once, but was able to overcome it by restarting and reloading. I can confirm my gen.osm matches this.
Quote:
C:\games\Thief2>dir gen.osm
Volume in drive C has no label.
Volume Serial Number is FCA4-3D61
Directory of C:\games\Thief2
03/27/2000 03:02 PM 429,568 gen.osm
1 File(s) 429,568 bytes
Furthermore, here is the output of the UNIX sum utility on my gen.osm:
Quote:
C:\games\Thief2>sum gen.osm
34860 420

I had such a difficult time doing the basement, i switched to the cameras, a lot easier.

It seems that the problem with the mission flow aborting is not unique to the bad osm, but the variant which can occur with the good osm is intermittent and is resolved with a reload, which goes along with what we saw in beta. In the 5 months this mission was tested with hundreds of playthroughs, this problem manifested twice.
Maybe it will still be possible to correct the variant in the patch. Do you still have a save from your broken game?
