Just wanted to point out that when I was in the
clubhouse, i experienced keys floating in mid-air which weren't frobable. Also the maid in there i think had a key, but later when i frisked her, she had no key on her. If she does have a key, perhaps this opens the staff only room connected to the clubhouse?Quote Posted by CaptSyn
I'm not sure. He said he left his gear for me, but there was no mention of a key.
Apparently the location varies depending on what task you choose to do.
I choose to shut the cameras off, so the vent key was left in the second floor utility room.

Steel gives it to you - by leaving it by a crawlspace opening in the 1st floor stoor room - if you accept the elevator task. This should happen right after he finishes with the camera room. Did this line not trigger?I checked and there is definitely no gear hidden away in the 1st floor storage room, beyond finding the loot and note under a desk, which I found just minutes into the game. And where is this crawlspace at anyway? There's 2 locked vents, but no gear anywhere.
Also, someone mentioned the key to the Ambassador's Suite was at the front desk if you agree to finish Rubber's rounds. The problem with that is, there was never an option to take on that chore. Dante automatically chooses to return Cloud's key, there are no other options.
As for the note in the bar about making a delivery, reading that note doesn't give you a new goal, so how do you get involved in that one? Otherwise, there's no way into the Monarch Suite if you choose to disable the elevator.

First, huge thanks to the team! I'm loving the HUGE-NESS, and the opening video was top-notch! :D :thumb:
I've just passed the 5-hour mark, and have spent the better part of the last 3 looking for one silly little taffing thing: soap! It's all I have left to do for Rubber (his name... is .... "Rubber" ... BWAH-HA-HA!!:laff: ). I've seen a few bars on bathroom sinks, but I can't pick any of them up! Would someone please put me out of my misery and tell me where it's hiding?
I understand that I should still be able to copy two more readables because I've copied 3 already (Cloud's letter to mistress, Accountants ledger, mechanist manual page. Since I'm pretty sure I've probably looked at them already, but forgot to copy them, that's no big deal.
But, if they are available on "impossible" difficulty (what I'm playing), would someone mind throwing me a bit of a hint about:
How to get into the Captain's Office, and
The safe combination.
This is the first new FM I've played in over a year (long story, don't ask), and it is excellent! Thanks again! :)

The floating keys is a original T2 bug, but for some reason manifests very regularly in the clubhouse. The bartender has a build-in key that is not supposed to be takeable. There's something about that area that makes the keys malfunction. It's not for the mysterious door.
CaptSyn, It's the grating further east. Climb up there after moving the furniture, and you'll find the key on the ground near the edge of the grating.
And... You never got the conversation where Rubber returns and asks you to complete his rounds?
Without the two above issues, you won't get into the Monarch's suite.
bassmanret, go back to the room where you got the task list, and look down at the ground... and To get into the captain's office you need to get into the second crawlspace system, which has an entrance behind the Pearl Hall bar. Of course, you need to find a way to clear out the guards there, if you haven't already.

All of the clubhouse keys are inside the clubhouse - but the balcony doors are open. Maybe if you had a vine-like device that could be shot into the railing? Hmmm! Ah! That would explain my confusion. I did not realize the balcony I was looking for was outside, let alone that the vine arrows would adhere to the stonework, so I wandered about the compound for hours seeking it. I blame the lack of sleep and even moreso the absence of a caffeine potion. :p Nonetheless, a fantastic mission this is! I applaud the CoSaS team for a job very well done! Thanks for all of your hard work! :thumb:

Not sure what's gone wrong with your play through, but I will describe mine.
I got the option to return Cloud's key and also whether to do Rubber's rounds or not.
The way i finally got into the Monarch Suite is by turning off the lights in the packed casino hall (caused quite a commotion hehe), which will also turn off the lights in the bar (except the bar lights). Then i crouch walked to the drunk guard and opened the grate there, and the 2 guards by the bar didn't notice me. I then found some new crawlspaces which lead me to the Suite.

There's a much more peaceful way of doing that, shadows! :cheeky:

It may have to do with how the key is linked to the AI. I unfortunately have a similar problem with
a body part attached to one of the boss AI in DP2 - if you watch her walk off screen, the body part remains behind floating in the air. As soon as you see her again, the body part is back on her.Quote Posted by Digital Nightfall

I sapped the bartender, carried him away to a dark corner somewhere, and then was able to get into the crawl entrance, all without taking the two guards at the bar beyond "What was that? Musta been rats." :cheeky:
If that was changed before the release version, please ignore that last statement.

No Yandros, that should still be possible, but most players aren't as slick as you. :cheeky:

It's been so long since I
got the task list. I THINK I got it from behind the front desk where all the keys are, but there is definitely no soapage there. I found the second crawlspace also (that is how I transported the passed out drunk guard) that leads way up high in the Ivory hall which leads to the Monarch Suite which left me locked in (no key) with no choice but to fall down and take some damage (with guard in tow). Obviously I missed some other way to the Captain's office. I hate to sound like a moron, but could you (or anyone) please give me a bit more of a nudge?
