Regarding "black box problem":

- T2 new install
- patch 1.18
- copied convict.osm + gen.osm (check the right size of files - look at:
(http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122490&page=5) near the end of page)
- Dark Loader 4.3
- no video version of MX FM

and FM works correctly including voice communication via mask.

Once more: this FM is excellent !!! The architecture looks really like real/life one. I feel like in real place, including people - they are where they should be, rooms are dark with sleeping guests, service areas are lighted but empty, foreman responds to ring, some offices are with staff. The lighting is stunning - dark where it should be, blue night light from windows. The play is extremelly well balanced - you should go step by step to reach more and more. It reminds me the OM Bank. This FM is without doubts OM quality and could easily be a part of Thief 4.

well I've finally managed to finish this mission. thanks to that .osm file:)

pretty cool mission, though I was so frustrated at some points. the damn guards were swarming the place like rabbits in a breeding season.:laff:

Yeah. so many FMs have come out lately that could kick the OMs' ass every day and twice on Sunday.

Imagine if Thief 3 had been like this:

Mission 3: Night in Rocksbourg 3
Mission 4: Broken Triad
Mission 5: Ashen Age
Mission 6: Hidden Agenda

...and so on.

I mean HOLY CRAP! It would have been the best game of all time.

No, if you can play T2 without ddfix, it isn't needed for MX.

nightshifter, I don't have time now to read back to see what your problem is, but...

make sure that your Thief 2 folder has...
convict.osm
gen.osm (the CORRECT version - look back a few pages)
darkhooks.dll
darkhooks.dlx
dh2.osl

A clean install of Thief 2 (version 1.18) is recommended.

Try the no movies version if the full isn't working. That seems to do the trick for many, many people!

I feel that CoSaS adds a certain RPG-smelling spice to Thief formula, and I have long dreamed of such a fusion.

Need your help with getting this mission to work :(

Now I have:
Thief2 1.18 fresh install works properly with safe_texture_manager string, movies play.
Darkloader 4.3

When I install and start the MX, movies play, then I click "start game", and after it finishes loading, it crashes to desktop without any messages.

I checked files in root dir — all *.osm's have right size, but darkhooks.dll wasn't copied (darkhooks.dlx was there) — copied it manually. Same crash to desktop.

Checked files in subfolders and noticed that files from folders:

Code:

books\english
books\smpatch
intrface\english
intrface\miss23\english
strings\english

were copied not into the same dir in T2's folder, but into the parent dir (books\english\CMS1T01S.str -> thief2\books\cms1t01s.str etc) — is it right or wrong? :weird: Anyway, copied those files manually to 'english' folders without deleting the ones copied by Darkloader — same crash to desktop.

Tried version with no movies — same crash to desktop.

What should I do next to make it to work? :confused:

UPD: Tried to start it from DromEd — when entering game mode it crashes with standard "program needs to close" message.
