Only one type of AI will ring the alarm - the men in the black suit with the red belt. If you are patient and watch for them, hunt them down with extreme prejudice and remove them from the picture, you should find things much easier.
There's two on the top floor, one on the third, two on the second floor, and one on the 1st floor (though after the patch there will be more on the 1st floor, but they will all be in the Pearl Hall only without patrols, and will just make it harder for the player to cause chaos in that busy room.)
If other AIs are ringing the alarm, it's a bug and I need to know about it.

Hey! I've just shut down the elevator power, and my teammates said that I've done well and I must stay in the Ivory part until further instruction. But after some minutes, the game ends, and the objective "don't cause trouble to your teammates" is failed. What is this, and what should I do?

Thanks, this may help me quite a bit. I'll give it another shot knowing this and knowing about the type of light switches that can be picked :)

Hey, finished it! It's a masterpiece! A great mission :) Looking forward to the third one.

Sneakyjack, you can do it. Slow down, time yourself, pace yourself. Watch the patrol patterns of the AI. You can do it, once you get going, it will become easier.
I first ghosted a lot of it, then I became an assassin. The circle dagger, get right behind the AI and jab as fast as you can, taking them down with ease, and not giving them much time to react. I don't normally kill, it was just another instance of playing a different way.
Get that light key, it will become easier.

Just knowing that two kinds of lights were eventually frobbable without the key made this mission so much easier.. perhaps that should be put into the missions notes somewhere. If it was there, I missed it. Also, the tip about the guys in the black suit and red belt was great - and I am now very close to completing the mission with so much less frustration. :thumb:

Well, I wish I had the lightswitch key earlier on, I didn't get it until the part where you must return cloud's key to his apartment.
And only a few switches I recall were pickable.:erg:

My god, what a ride !
At first I got disappointed, I think I expected too much after 8 years. First part was nice when you can wander around until you find your equipement, but then once you have it everything goes way too fast, it becomes incredibly difficult (and I was "only" on expert). Seriously, what's the point of having a blackjack if you can't use it ? Except the servants, I ko'ed only 3 or 4 guards. And locked lightswitchs are a nightmare. I hate to be "forced" to ghost a mission.
Furthermore, the team irritated me. As soon as you have the mask they keep harrassing you, I must do the mission or someone will die, when I try to explore a little someone says I'm too slow or that he keeps going further, I have to be fast or they won't be able to continue, blah blah... It was a real source of stress and frustration for me. But then I checked this thread and saw there was no time limit, so I decided to do it my way and didn't pay attention to the rest of the team.
I picked the camera objective, and did it as soon as possible to get rid of my tasks, and finally have fun. Then, everything went perfect. :D
I took the time to explore, appreciate the beauty of the place, gather some keys here and there, pay attention to the outstanding details in the design of the mission. I had some nice thiefy moments I didn't have for a while in a fm, especially when the agents ran away from the ivory rose, finally quiet, finally "alone" in the building.
Convo's are excellent. I'm impressed by all the new features and the amount of scripts involved. The mask is fantastic.
Even if I find the textures resolutions a little low, I like a lot the graphics, especially the architecture. Lighting can be a little cold or flat at places, but they are very realistic.
I love the sidequests and bonus objectives. I found and copied 5 important documents. :cheeky: I don't know if there are more, I only managed to find 5 copy kits. And now I realise it's probably the toughest of the mission, but the first one I did is Raputo's sealed scroll :
Once I dropped the scrollcase, I noticed a guard took it with him, and as I love to add scripted events with AIs in my own fms, I decided to follow him as there must have been a reason behind his behavior. I made the right decision, and I love the idea to sneak in while the guard is in the toilet. Btw, the way Raputo gives his scroll to the guard highly impressed me, it was so smooth in the middle of the conversation, it seemed so natural, extremely well done ! And at the end of the whole sequence, I recognised Nick's voice, so good.
Finished the mission in around 3 and a half hours. Found 7625 in loot (but I don't care, I'm not a loot hunter). However, I don't recall if I found any secret...
Good news, not a single bug noticed ! :D
Pros (among many) :
- Architecture
- Realism of the Ivory Rose in almost every aspect
- Fantastic details
- Passion involved in the making and professional quality felt in every details from the mission.
- All the new features, very clever
- Strength of the story
Cons (among a few) :
- Extremely difficult, highly frustrating at moments, especially at the beginning
- I don't like the mission impossible idea. Not really a con, mostly my taste...
- The team hates me... well no, I hate them :p
- I didn't find a single healing potion, what the hell !?
I'll wait for the patch before to replay it. Thanks a lot Dan, and the CoSaS team, for this wonderfull mission. Despite the problems I encountered, I found back that special feel I had when I first played the OMs, the Seventh crystal, Calendra's legacy... :thumb:
2 questions :
- Can we do something with the milly doll ?
- And what about Julie's stool ?

behind the bar in one of the areas I just can't believe it... :nono:
I spent 1 hour playing with only one shield left, because I felt a little too high here and there, and expected to find one to save my life.
