My god, what a ride !
2 questions :
- Can we do something with the milly doll ?
- And what about Julie's stool ?
I used the stool to stand on while I reached up to a lockbox that was sitting on top of a bookcase. I think it was on the first floor around the corner from the reception desk I think.

No offense, but in the defense of the CoSaS team, it
is a team based story; it even says in the credits it was inspired by Mission Impossible.
Though I can see how it can be irratating... Especially if you have to constantly reload.:o
I'm aware of this. It's been 2 years I know the team would be important in the mission. But as I wrote, I don't like the mission impossible idea (my taste). Thief is about Garrett, a solitary and cynical guy badass enough to steal the whole City by himself without help. It's partly why I love this game, you're alone against many. ;)
Still, I agree the team idea was very interesting, it's something unique which truly gives a new dimension to the game. But I don't like the way it works, they just keep pushing you, harrassing you, at a moment I wanted to remove off the mask and let them do their business without me.
In my opinion, the teamwork should be about precision, patience and quality in the tasks. I felt it was more like speed, rush, do your best and survive...
However, it was only my first run. Now that I know the mission, I think I'll enjoy it better next time. ;)

My god, nicely done... But then, you were probably
looking for loot.
Not really, I was looking for the important documents AND a healing potion :cheeky:

If you stop fighting the mission and take your time with it, you get a much more fulfilling experience. :thumb:
That's what I did, and that's what happened ;)
I'll wait for the patch before to replay it. I knew I'd love it anyway...

Your not being forced to ghost, though I half agree with you by saying it comes dangerously close if this makes any sense... (Since you have a Sap instead of a blackjack, and the hard to use dagger.)
But the Sap isn't much use, since the guards have chain mail protecting their heads and all you get is a clunk sound and a very angry guard. But yes if you don't mind killing, you could use your oversized toothpick to poke them to death. :cheeky:

I get what you mean. Especially since you have to do Rubber's rounds - not easy when you can't move around as freely as Rubber and also return Cloud's key. Dante has to do the lion's share of tasks. But i think their comments are just a normal part of team dynamics - especially when you have several strong personalities working as a team, you're going to bump egos and boy does Steel have an ego!
I still don't get one thing though.
Why do we bother doing Rubber's tasks? He says his covers been blown - i assume this means they know his up to no good. Yet he then says his nightly tasks aren't done, he will be missed? But his covers been blown, he can't turn up for work the next day anyway. I must be dense but perhaps i've missed something? The only answer I can think of, is that they can't let the opposition know somethings up, until at least the next morning so they have to finish off this nights tasks.

I felt rushed during my first playthrough, too. Getting familiar with as much territory as I could, and adapting to the way the puzzles were structured, allowed me to eventually work faster than the team at some stages during the next playthrough. I know that the more I play it, the less rushed I'll feel as I progress, and I'll be waiting for the team to catch up.
I know how to get through it successfully, but I yet lack the finesse to choose one playstyle and stick to it all the way. As it stands, I use techniques from most playstyles depending on where I am in the map.

Great to hear that there will be more health potions on the lower difficulty level. :thumb:
I think i'll give it another crack after the patch as well - or many more than 1 playthrough I'm sure.
I recognized the greatness of the mission and the technical achievement from the beginning - but it was just a tad too hard for a non-expert like myself who only gets to play in small chunks of time. (I post on the forum while doing work at the office)
Its still an incredible mission, and now rests in my top five of all time. I personally loved the team based play - though feeling rushed did come across a few times, but the time limits for the objectives that would fail the mission were alright. :)
Edit: And please people.. stop using "slow down and play through it" as a solution. Like I said before, I slowed down (for 10 hours or more) and "played through it" (15 or more reloads) and still got whooped by the difficulty level. So that isnt the issue. Haha.

The sap knocks out the chain-mail only guards just fine.

The only answer I can think of, is that they can't let the opposition know somethings up, until at least the next morning so they have to finish off this nights tasks. He thinks his cover's blown, and it will be blown if he simply vanishes. Antonette needs her agent to stay in his position at the IR, so he doesn't want to take that risk. If the guard suspects that someone on the staff is up to no good, and if one of the staff vanishes without a trace and all of their chores left undone, he will have a very hard time arguing his innocence. On the other hand, if all his assigned work is complete, he could argue that he couldn't have possibly been up to no good while delivering suits and soap. (which is pretty funny, considering that's exactly what Dante is up to.)Quote:

Dante was only
supposed to do one task.
Returning the key is opposite of finding Rubber and escorting him out of the building, which would probably be much harder. He doesn't have to do Rubber's chores, but does it to help him not catch hell from Antonette for blowing his cover. The other objectives are optional but, let's face it, how much fun would it be if Dante spent the next few missions as an underling for The Circle? He needs to be able to prove that he's shockingly good at this, and has to climb through the ranks pretty quickly if we want to keep this interesting!

And I would have fixed it then, too, but it took this long to put all the pieces together and figure out why that patrol was breaking! :tsktsk:

Pavlov....Thanks for the hint but the only thing I found in Cyrano's Office was in the wastepaper basket. Am I not reading it right??
Digital Nightfall on 20/8/2008 at 23:36
There's five things to find in Cyrano's office.
A key on his desk.
A readable in the wastebasket.
Loot on top of a bookshelf.
A book-switch.
A scrap of paper on the bookshelf with four numbers on it.
Also...
An awesome saber made by tdbonko!
