Digital Nightfall: I guess I let the team down then somewhat, but Sheam did say to Rubber that I needed to take care of the key. When I played it, (only one playthrough at the time of this writing) I chose not to do Rubber's chores. At the time, I felt it was best to stay focused on the key. However, I think it's great you can choose and not be forced. The mask always has 2 choices...

The sap knocks out the chain-mail only guards just fine.
Sorry, what i meant was that you
can't knockout the guards with the helmets, which means i can't put them out of action.Quote:
He thinks his cover's blown, and it will be blown if he simply vanishes. Antonette needs her agent to stay in his position at the IR, so he doesn't want to take that risk. If the guard suspects that someone on the staff is up to no good, and if one of the staff vanishes without a trace and all of their chores left undone, he will have a very hard time arguing his innocence. On the other hand, if all his assigned work is complete, he could argue that he couldn't have possibly been up to no good while delivering suits and soap. (which is pretty funny, considering that's exactly what Dante is up to.)Yeah you're right i missed that point. So what you're saying is,
is that the guard suspects Rubber is up to no good and that suspicion might result in Rubber getting detained later on in the night by the guard. So instead Rubber leaves the Ivory Rose to prevent this from potentially happening, but he also has Dante finish his tasks as an alibi that when they discover the vault has been tampered with, Rubber won't get the blame?Quote:
Dante was only
supposed to do one task.
Yes I know, i wasn't critising (sp?) the mission. What i meant was that afterwards when
Dante gets more tasks to do the team needs to give him time to do them. Yes some of the tasks are optional but when the player undertakes them this of course takes more time to do - especially the find some important documents task, by all rights Dante would have to explore a lot of places to find said documents. Yet the team just comments how slow Dante is. I felt like telling them that because i am doing those other tasks it's gonna take time, since rushing them could bust their mission.

Thanks, Digi. I had found all except the scrap of paper on the book shelf.
Enjoying this game. It's definitely like no other....Thief, that is.

By the way, perhaps im wasting my breath (you probably know this) but you can just use the knockout drops on the dagger and knock out the guards with helmets on.

Steel is the only one who is giving you a hard time about being slow. ;) He would like nothing better than for Dante to flunk out and to be a hero.
Sheam's priority at that point is to get the team out safe. It's not her fault that Rubber blew his cover. It would be her fault if he was taken prisoner, or killed. It would also be her fault if Dante failed to return the key. She doesn't forbid him to do it, but she feels uncomfortable with the idea, even though it's a logical course of action to try to preserve Rubber's status as staff at the IR.

After 4 days of playing finished it for the first time.
Pro, 9hr 0min 7sec, 8365/8385 loot, 13/15 pickpockets, 0 damage done. 2 bonus objectives (put key on Cloud's belt and 4 documents copied).
One optional objective (mark mistress' door) was checked off as done while I was playing but when I finished game it became marked as failed. I realize I marked wrong door - the door on the third floor with singing voice behind it.
I may describe my impressions more detailed later, but I'll simply say for now that MX is now officially my #1 favorite Thief mission, there is another #1 though - CL, I just can't give any of them a preference. Thanks for this incredible work of art.
And now some questions.
Where the 5th document (Raputo's scroll) ends up? I didn't track it, is it possible to copy it later if one doesn't follow the guard?
Is there any other bonus objective except putting key on Cloud's belt and copy 4 or 5 documents?
And story question - why Rubber is so bothered to finish his rounds if he claimed he was already disclosed as agent. Isn't it a bit too late to bother about such things :) ?

The Rubber question was answered above, but if you remember, he THOUGHT his cover was blown, yet he's not 100% sure, only very uncomfortable. It was a close call.:thumb:
