Do you use DX9 ddfix (f.e. 1.1.1)? T2 is very slow in some places with DX7 ddfixes (newer than 1.1.1) on Radeons.

Nope, I dont have anything extra installed, just Darkloader and Thief 2, aaaand I think...perhaps one or two scripts, dont remember exactly which ones.

I didnt even know about those ddfixes until now. I tried to install the last version, didnt work, "Unable to find any occurances of DDRAW.dll in Thief2.exe, Please download a prepatched one"

Ill try a clean install again to see if i can get that ddfix working, perhaps that will help.

Thief2/FMs are just unplayable on modern videocards without ddfix because of horrible colours. You pretty much have to use it.

I had a 5200 until recently :P

Ive been digging around, and it seems that i need the GUI version of the ddfix 1.1.1 or the patched exe for thief 2, or both, yet i cant seem to be able to get either, the links are dead or non existent, it would be great if someone could email them to me, or upload them somewhere.

Also, the clean reinstall didnt help at all.

:(

PD: Im sorry for the Offtopic, now its clear that the problem its my pc, not the mission.

Thanks, in my rush to get something working i completely missed that topic. The DDfix is in and working, but....performance wise, its the same, 8 fps.

Apparently things would work a lot better with my card if I use the 1.1.1 version, or at least thats what i read on another topic:

Thief 2 + Mission X With 4850/4870:

* Vanilla:
T2 - WORKS, crappy texture issue and massive lag
* Vanilla + Widescreen:
T2 - WORKS, crappy texture issue and even more lag
* DDfix 1.1.1:
T2 - WORKS, smooth, only does 1280*1024 (nb. no fog)
* DDfix 1.1.1 + widescreen
T2 - WORKS, Massive lag
* DDfix 1.3.11
T2 - WORKS, set "UseCompatibleZBuffer=1" in ddfix ini and some lag
* DDfix 1.3.11 + widescreen
T2 - WORKS, set ddfix.ini as above , some lag

I think there are no working links to a GUI installer for that version.

in the monarchsuite , near the playing tables, opened the windows, hopped out, to my left i see a gasarrow on the ledge
anyone ever managed to get that???

First, I wanna congratulate the CoS team on this release, you guys are Thief GODS! The teamwork aspect is incredible and offers a great deal of replayability.

Now for my question. I know it's been asked before how to get into the club area to lock the doors, but there have been answers ranging from jumping down from above to launching vine arrows into the railing outside. I've tried that and they don't stick.

Can someone give me a direct answer?
