Does anybody know
if COSAS 3: The Nine Year Sleep will be released ?
Sorry for the quote edit. But at this point noone knows. The team who took it over hasn't given up on it, but I am no longer involved so I can't say one way or another.
Meanwhile, we're aiming to finish (
http://www.dishonored.com/) Dishonored this year. If you're a fan of CoSaS or Calendra's Legacy or Arx or Dark Messiah or Deus Ex or Half Life 2, you'll want to check it out.

@Fidcal...
The key ends up in one of two places depending on where you were when the agent (Stone IIRC) is done with it. In the theater it is above the stage on the beam. The other place would be on the 3rd floor sticking out the elevator.
Omg, this is riddicilous. You have headsets etc, get nice instructions etc., and SHE does not even tell you the key lies in a impossible place ?
See, this kind of stuff is putting me of. Why the heck make it so hard, to find that key, a key, a teammate of yours put there. It does not make sence other then making it very hard for the player to get anywhere and no, that is not frustating but very annoying and not very logical.
Came here to find out why to find that key, cause frankly, i never would have find it! And that is bad gamplay design, is my believe.
Mission "impossible" should be thrilling, hard to lure the guards etc.etc. Letting people search till they "drop dead" to find a silly key is NOT! Even more when that key was put there by your own team....omg (facepalm).

I think I haven't said it here: I think Mission X is a GREAT mission, one of the best missions ever made! Story: very good, architecture: wonderful, gameplay: lovely. It is completely different from any other FM, but meanwhile it has so many classic elements you can't miss. :thumb:
happy now? ;)
The story is not "that" good executed, is my believe after two rounds.
loose ends:
-You do rubbers list (which is a multi mission)
-Or no....you do NONE (and miss alot of loot, which no one warns you for)
That is ONE loose end.
Two
-rubber ask you to deliver locked scrollcage, fine. The optional mission following that delivery, no one speaks of and you have to be a real ACE to figure out yourself, that guard is taking the message upstairs, you do have to follow him (ACE agent action nr 1)
-Ace agent nr2 is twofold, figure out own your own, that while the guard is standing there in the garden, you must sneak past the Owner and pick him. On top of that, it is a good moment to give him his key back....HUH? That same key, we put in the draw near the bed already? Ow ow, yes ..right (facepalm)
-Ace agent nr3 involves waiting for that message from R....to that guard and figure out you must follow him to the toilet on floor 3, unlock it and copykit it without being noticed.
Now tell me: how many people do figure out this themselves, and be honest ?
Much to complicated and quite impossible to figure that out yourself if you ask me.
Besides, you could miss this whole "crucial" objective, a objective that in my mind should be part of the main story. That is where "the story" goes blabantly wrong for me.
The story was oke, the atmosphere great, the building too. Thank god you could turn of that music, what a annying, boring saloon tunes. I know better classic music then that...lol
All in all, a 8.5. Very good but too impossible in some ways.

Just finished and this is the finest mission I have ever played. It knocked Calendra's Legacy: Midnight In Murkbell off the throne . There is just so much depth it is almost overwhelming. All in a good way though, trust me. Thank you to the entire CoSaS team for this jewel of a creation! :thumb:
I am starting my Supreme Ghost playthrough of this mission soon. I just have to wrap my head around its complexity and try to come up with a proper plan. I would like to finish Rubber's chores, copy all the documents, return Cloud's key to his belt, get all the loot and receive the promotion at the end in the process. That is a tough task, to say the least. Especially when Supreme doesn't allow the removal of light sources or the use of moss arrows.

Question: How many gas arrows exist on impossible difficulty?
Sorry, the edit function wouldn't work.
SlyFoxx on 26/8/2012 at 22:23
Check
the vents carefully for gas arrows. I think you can find at least four. There is also a very hard to get gas crystal way up high in the Ivory Hall...it's in plain sight from the ground floor.
I will check the vents again, although I thought I had scoured every part of those shafts. There are several places where you can open up the ceiling panels to the roof, where the fans are. Is this where you are talking about? The gas arrow in the ivory hall I got. Wasn't that hard to reach from above.

I played a long session of Mission X under the recent 1.19 patch and enjoyed it a lot.
But i noticed 2 problems, maybe related to the 1.19 patch or not, as i never played that mission until now
- when saving then reloading i noticed that the AI was not in the same state it was when i saved, it gave me a very hard time in some situations, in which when i saved some AI were calm and after reloading were actively hunting me.
- at the end of the mission
I dropped the key in Cloud's open cabinet then headed down to exit from the side entrance.
I selected the "leaving Ivory Rose" message and got Sheam saying she's waiting in the carriage, and a snarky remark about my inefficiency and that i would not last a week from whatshisname .
Deserved as i didn't copied anything and didn't tried to make Rubber's duties and took a lot of time, knocking out and putting to sleep many guards (i was only on expert difficulties) and alerted many people (that were put to sleep too :D ) .
And then nothing, the mission does not end at all, no stats i can just continue roaming around the map , i tried to go to every locations around the starting point, but i'm forced to just "Quit" if i want to end.

I also switched to version 1.19 midway through. Had no problems with the saves and alert states like you mentioned Flyinhammer. However I did have a problem with the objectives. I returned Cloud's key to his belt and got the bonus objective appearing in my task list. Problem is, it is unchecked! The fact that it appeared means the game registered that I did it, but that it's unchecked leaves me befuddled. I reloaded a savegame from before the 1.19 patch and I have that objective checked there. I suspect this to give me trouble at the end the same way you had, and that it won't make me end the mission in the normal fashion. I guess I'll just have to ctrl+alt+shift+end the mission if that's the case. It doesn't bother me much if that's the only deal. I expected having to start the mission all over.

For the AI , i forgot to say that those "calm" AI were AI that were looking for me but haven't been able to find any trace of my character had finally got back to their guarding stance.
It's then saving just from there (a dozen of seconds after they went back to guard) and reloading that seems to make those AI lose their calm stance and redo the hunting for me one.
Was a bit hard if i was near them at the time of the save :)
Will have to see if wait for a minute or more before saving can help, maybe there's some AI switch that continue to check for a few more seconds after them calming down and that the save/load is perturbing.
Reloading the last save, i noticed too that the objective
about the key is not checked anymore despite it's done, maybe it plays a part in the problem.
I noticed too that despite the "copy document" is acknowledge as failed (in the dialogue with Sheam and my character), the objective is not greyed as it should (another objective failed was greyed) and unchecked too.
But the end is just a very minor bug after all as it only prevent to see the end stats, it does not detract for that awesome experience that Mission X is.
