Victoria and the Trickster are powerful monsters.
Do you think they could manage to get all the talismans and the eye all by themselves ? I mean, Victoria can toss human bodies like ragdolls. Hammerites wouldn´t be such a treat would it ? No real need for sneaking when you´re a fiersome tought monster.
As for some puzzles during the missions, Trickster could possibly find them out, he isn´t called Trickster for being dumb...

how would he know where the talismans were kept? The Eye spoke to Garrett and told him about the Keeper grotto - perhaps it would remain irritatingly silent for Constantine.

Constantine could back-jump into the Cathedral through the back window and grab it :P

I always thought that he would just waltz into the old quarter, fry any zombies in his path and blow up the doors to the cathedral, walk on in and topple the altar to grab the eye. Would be a heck of alot quicker than waiting for Garret to do anything.
And if he couldn't smash the door because of the elemental locks, he could always just stack a few bones and hop the walls.:D

Maybe he's weak where nature isn't present?
Just at thought. :p

Well this is all going on the assumption that The Trickster can't get the eye directly from the cathedral himself. Let's assume the kind of seal placed on the Cathedral is some sort of old magic that the Trickster can't undo. Or, the Eye is intelligent. Perhaps the eye didn't want to be reclaimed by the Trickster.
So beyond that, it comes down to keeping a low profile. The last thing he needed was the Hammers running around trying to thwart his plans. Sure he could blast his way through the Hammer temple or the mage's tower. Between those and the Opera house, he'll have gained a lot of attention.
Garrett managed to do it incognito. So no one knew the Trickster had returned, or even that any powerful force of chaos was scheming their demise. No one figured it out until it was "too late" to do anything about it. He was so confident of that fact that he didn't bother to finish Garrett quickly. What would it matter if Garrett escaped? Well it did matter, if only because Garrett was willing to work the Hammers and vice versa, an unlikely pairing.
So really, out sourcing to Garrett was a great idea.

As the Keeper said:
"The Trickster will not forgive you for doing what he could not. Nor, I trust, will you forgive us."
Constantine relies heavily on Viktoria, even to speak on his behalf in his presence. He and his minions are killable by a High Priest an enchanted chisel and an explosive (assuming the explosive isn't a small Builder's Blessing nuke). So alerting the Hammers to their plan too soon is a bad idea.
Neither Viktoria nor Constantine could enter areas heavy with the Builder's magic. Since they chose Garrett for his skill, testing him before deciding to use him for their purposes, this speaks volumes about how incapable they are at being sneaky enough to pull all five jobs off.
Their shape-shifting abilities seem limited to only hiding their true appearance or being destructive. We never see otherwise.
And, what Maddermadcat said.

Oh and maybe...
Trickster can pray hammerite prayers but since he is some sort of demon these prayers have no effect. Therefore he wouldn´t be able to take that forcefield from the talisman of air.
I can't even imagine him containing himself long enough to even get to that point!:wot:

Maybe Constantine couldn't become The Trickster until he had the eye?
Hrrrmmm?
