Not even kidding about the title. Aside from the rappelling and planning section, this reminds me of Counter Strike, except dressed in the trappings of next gen.
This, of course, is a good thing, as I've recently become addicted to CS 1.6. I for one am hoping to get it when it's out, if my PC can handle it or if I get my next-gen console.

I liked what I saw, but after I discovered from an article that it's a one-hit kill kind of game that soured it a little for me. I'm not good at these kinds of games, and anything that punishing I find to be frustrating.
That said, it does provide a heap of challenge to this, and I imagine rounds could end rather quickly. Even if not, I guess spectating one of your teammates could be interesting considering how intense this game looks. I love the destructibility of the environments seen in the clip. That's one thing that CS didn't have, at least not in it's latest installment. (Source had some physics stuff, but nothing so extreme as blasting down walls like in Rainbox Six: Siege.)

It looks good. Tho the combination of casual chat/phrases and the hi quality voice + staged setpieces kinda gave me a weird CS uncanny valley vibe lol :p

I might be in to this... depends on price, though. I'm not spending $50 for what's essentially Counterfield.

OP, are you serious? Rainbow Six was busy being a SWAT/police anti-terrorist paramilitary unit themed tactical FPS franchise aeons before Counter-Strike even existed.
There already literally is a modern incarnation of Counter-Strike, it's (
http://store.steampowered.com/app/730/) CS:GO.

Your comparison makes no sense. There are very few parallels between this and Battlefield.

I was being a bit facetious, but god, just go away.

Uh, wikipedia shows less than a year between the releases of the first Rainbow Six and the first Counter-Strike public beta.
I remember those days. And now I feel very old again.

I know :P it's just that when I watched the trailer, the first thing that came to mind was
Counter Strike.
Forgive me if this is a woefully horrible comparison, I've never played a Rainbow Six game.

One hit kills and being able to shoot through every wall? I fully expect this to be riddled with gameplay imbalances.
And I wonder if they could fit more UI elements on the screen...

If one hit kills scare you, I advise you avoid anything with the Tom Clancy name appended to it like the plague.
Extremely excited for this (even though this means we're not getting Patriots, which looked fucking magnificent from the trailers they released). Apparently there was a playable demo at E3, so hopefully we might see this game sooner rather than later. This and The Division have me so very, very excited for the next generation of Tom Clancy titles.
