It's using about 156,000K
That's not too much

I think it must be something to do with the texture families I'm using.
This is my guess, too.

They're all DDS textures, with a couple of old pcx families. Mixing texture types shouldn't cause a problem should it?
Mixing is not a problem. But don't use pcx, dds or whatever with the same name in the same folder

Anything else I should be aware of when using custom textures that might cause crashes?
dds textures in the loadout screen would crash for sure.
You could upload the mission in question (with resources). I could check it. So we can be sure it's not that FM that's causing problems. Drop me a PM if you want to.

Maybe use it:
Quote:
; force DXT textures to be decompressed on load (normally it only does that when running the editor in
; software mode, but in case there are any DXT related problems in HW mode then this option could be
; of use)
dxt_to_rgb32
The .dds can have strange issues in dromed in-editor (not in-game there is no problem). The software mode is incompatible, so it decompress this format, but the editor hardcore use UI that are not compatible with DXT compressions, that it not decompress, and it can be a problem for dromed.
Put these lines in "dromed.cfg"

Well whaddya know...
dxt_to_rgb32 seems to have done the trick.
Can't seem to make it crash any more!
Thanks to all for your help!

Very good. I wonder if this case is related to your video card. You mentioned the other rig. What's the video card there?

Not got access to it at the moment, but I think it is AMD. Seems to make sense.
