For the love of god, please tell me T: DS has a level-skip thing like in T:tDP. O.O

Dear all,
I am of the opinion that this level (the cradle) broke real ground in gaming. For the first time I felt genuine terror. Not an easy thing to achieve. Sadly I felt it jarred with other parts of DS as they were not as good or as brilliantly thought through.

To Thief-Playah: Dunno if you can skip. Feel the fear, then feel the relief that comes with finishing. Its kinda like dinner with the inlaws, and they're from Mississippi... and they won't tell you what you're eating...
To Philoctetes(sp?): I agree, but I still liked TDS anyway. I'm waiting for the new Garrettloader to comeout before I start playing FMs.

T-P: Grit your teeth. There's no skipping this level. Just make sure you have a clean change of underwear on-hand. If you get REAL scared, take a break & come to TTLG. All of us Cradle survivors will give you comfort & help reinforce the fact that it's just a game (it is just a game, right?? Plz? :weird: )
(Kind of off thread: ) Wouldn't it be great to have T-shirts that say, "I Survived The Cradle"?

I expect I'm gonna quit at least 5 times in the first part.
I'm a freaking pansy. >.>
I get slightly unnerved after I've knocked out all the guards and put out all the torches in the Bafford level. I quit the Cragscleft Prison before I even begun just because Garrett said there were rumors of the mines being haunted. And I KNEW that meant zombies. I friggen hate zombies. The Haunted Cathedral had me trembling all the way through.
Notably though, those levels don't freak me out as much. But that's just because I played through them and know what to do.
But if the Cradle's actually worse second time through, I KNOW it's bad. o_o
But at least it'll be awhile before I actually play the level. Thief 2 and DS still have 2-3 business day to get here. And naturally, I'm gonna play through Thief 2 first.

I can totally identify with that, T-P! There are a lot of FMs I won't play because I know they have zombies in them (GOD - I HATE THOSE THINGS!!). Be awarned that T2X, good as it was, happened to be packed full of the undead. I played it through to the end, but was kinda twitchy & had the eebie-jeebies for the next couple days. :wot:
Enjoy T2; it was (imho) the best of the best! :cheeky:

I just wanted to get out of there, but.. it kept going and going. I were trapped. Just wished it would end, but they had me running around the whole place looking for items.
When i finally got out of that hell hole, i look around my shoulder one or two times just to be sure. Then´s where the paranoia starts
I will never, ever, ever set my foot there again.

This Level did actually frighten me, which certainly does not happen very often. Although, frightened I wouldnt really use for this, more like, creeped out, spooked, then again, I'm not sure exactly what frightened means

I know the feeling. However, after I haven't played the mission for a while, I start to want to go back to it. I've never fully explored the Cradle, gotten 100X loot, read all the readables.
But then when I do go back, I find myself trying to get out as fast as possible.

Yeah, me too, T.S. I always start out (going back in there) brave & full of lots of bravado, but end up blasting through there like the very bats of hell are on my heels. Too bad that level isn't multi-player, ya know? I think I'd do better if I had someone with me (and no - not to hold my hand! What! Ya think I'm a sissy or something!?). :cheeky:
