Cradle. Dear God... - by mol

As I've mentioned in a previous post, I may or may not bring myself to play the Cradle because I don't think I can handle the psychological aftermath of it. At least..if I play on my own, that is.
May I just ask though, for those who've played:
Is the banging on the door part of the story arc of why the little girl was murdered? To me it suggests a very violent scene, so I was wondering if the murder was that - violent and brutal, not your usual sneak-up-and-stab kinda thing.
And then the morbid part of me also wants to ask: As you pick up clues on finding out about the murder, are you informed as to exactly HOW the murder happened? I mean, the exact procedure, like did the girl get beaten up or thrown around the room, or so on and so forth?
Sorry, my curiousity went rather overboard. :ebil: :cheeky:

The cradle was kinda odd for me..it was a brilliant level and scary with truckloads of atmos! However when i got into the inner cradle the first puppet i saw was
in the upper room with the tables and i think a telescope
it's been a while since i played the game but he was across the room so i wasn't scared just weierd out by the shaking. I do remeber being cornered by two puppets
I seem to remember being in an elevator shaft and I hid around the back of the elevator cage and they couldn't reach me I did find out though that you can just drop some oil in thier path and they will keep slipping and eventually die from the constant falls.
This became a tactic i used but it gave them a certain comedy elemnt and took the scares away real quick.

Yes, I'll admit it. I am a sissy-girl when it comes to zombies & Hammer Haunts. I'll take on a whole herd of spiders, but will run away like a scared little girl if I see a zombie headed towards me. :(
We all have our weaknesses.

Alright, I'd killed by third one...although the 2nd one gave me some trouble (nearly killed me). I really hope there are some rooms I don't have to go in at all, because two of the three puppets died right in front of the doors and I really, REALLY don't want to wake them up, again...

As far as I recall, you only need to go into one of the White Hall patient rooms. However, depending on your performance later in the level, it may be neccecary to go back to more of them. I won't say anything more then that.
And Dia, as you know, I can't stand a single spider. I'll march foward holy water flying, sword swinging, right into an army of Haunts, Zombies, Apperations, Fire Shadows. I'll sneak by with Haunts mere inches from my body without breaking a sweat. But the momment I hear the hissing or clicking of a spider, my blood freezes and I go wide eyed, and I start trying to lure it out using noisemaker arrows so I can take them out from a distance.

Can no one explain to me the banging?
Maybe it's just a sound effect to add to the atmosphere? Maybe a malign spirit of the murderer who's trapped inside behind the door?

There's a reason for the banging. Not gonna tell you what it is though. You just have to find out on your own :ebil:

Oh, fine, be that way.
I thought I asked very nicely, and explained why I daren't go through it, but it seems enjoyable around here to be cruel to people who can't, for their own personal reasons or other, play through the level.

Nothing will attack you in the attic. Really.
The banging is... Someone trapped, wanting to get out.
(Don't worry, she's friendly.;) )
