Cradle. Dear God... - by mol

Yes, I have to admit it, the Cradle was the best mission I ever played in any game! Everything about how excellent it was you can read above, so I won't repeat it all over again.
But what made me laugh is that 'remember me' question in forum login.
"You can't leave! You've been here to long. The TTLG Forum remembers you now!" :ebil:

I too am cacking my pants in this level, I know there are no AI in the first part, and I have been wandering for hours trying not to turn on the generators...
Also don't know if anyone noticed something with the blue glowing light in the attic? I went into third person and walked by it watching my shadow, then walked into it...it moved away, I then kept bumping into it and saw the shadow of the little girl moving across the floor...
Ok I have been shit scared in this level, so i decided to ease the tension a tiny bit and find out whats going on, i read so much about this girl, but I can't find her. I have been to the attic, I have been to the basement, I have ben everywhere and I can't find her.

I would thank Null (hope he reads TTLG forums) for the outstanding mission! It is absolutely new atmosphere, I even forgot that I'm Garret while playing (of course, I forgot my real name first):) Just finished, I feel drained and need to visit Cradle in past as patient... to get the medicine from those good doctors:)
I would not make comparision (what is better) with RTC - these are 2 very different great missions: RTC is Middle Ages horror but Cradle is pretty time "unlinked" nightmare; in RTC I expected to meet undead men but in Cradle - dunno whom; in RTC I feel walls could help me, I can hide (the Eye is great evil, not cathedral) but in Cradle I'm even afraid that walls could attack me because the building is enemy; when I visited little factory area in RTC I felt strange mix of dip to oblivion ("rest") and undead terror (I think that wonderful ambient did so - "puffy" loop) but in Cradle everywhere I felt constant need to move (place is absolutely restless)...

I reloaded a savegame I made at the beginning of this mission just to give it a go again. It's weird. Going through a second time is still just as freaky as the first.
It's like, I KNEW there weren't any enemies in the outer cradle.... but it still got to me. My head was saying "There's nothing here. You know it. You've been here before." But my instincts still kept telling me there was something there... something I missed... and it was gonna kill me.
Excellent, excellent job Null. This mission is the absolute perfect fusion of Atmosphere and Sound. It will be the new standard to measure all other supernatural Thief levels against.

I wonder if it is purely coincidence that Return To (the) Cathedral = RTC = Robbing The Cradle.

Have you also noticed that you are required to do favours for dead people who are trapped in both missions?

Yes. But little girl ghosts are far more creepy than ambiguously gay adult ghosts. ;)

OMFG, I just got into the inner section, creeping around avoiding most of them and then I turn round and bang this thing shrieks in my face. I jump like hell and scream and my brother is like What the fuck happened to you?

Playing in the inner cradle is NOT the time to have an ant infestation in the dark.
