Didn't we pour Lauryl's blood down a drain pipe? 'Cuz, unless my memory is playing tricks on me, it looked like Garrett then used it to dissolve the last glyph... Or was that the dissolving solution?

I always thought that the blood was dropped vial and all, and picked up outside. Not sure how much sense it makes though...
Rogue Keeper on 22/6/2006 at 10:29
Of course, the confidence of Garrett he would eventually ever see the vial after dropping it into drain pipe is entirely different matter. Lauryl didn't tell him he will need the blood to paint her tomb in order to release her (in the cutscene).
A minor plot hole, I'd say.

"It'll end up outside the cradle where it cant remember"... or something along those lines. I presumed it just landed up outside the cradle's walls through a disused drainpipe, after all the cradle is a ruin. Not a very strong explanation... Still, how could Garrett even fit a vial of blood through a grilled pipe?
EDIT: Hmm, just realised, the pipes arent actually drainpipes, they're air ventalation shafts (or the cradle's lobby was permanately flooded) so maybe the blood just landed outside the building where Garrett was free to pick it up.

ventilation shafts... in a victorian building... with openings on the floor... :tsktsk:
Drain pipe would make more sense, but then in an old abandoned building they'd be dried long ago.
What we canot see in the game is that G. has bribed a random rat with cheese to bring him the vial through the pipes to a meeting point outside the building.

But the fact they run openly into the lobby means they probably wouldnt have held water. And the fact that it comes to a capped and grilled end suggests that the pipe wasnt just broken. Maybe it was something to do with the heating?

I thought 'twas the blood in the dissolution serum that Garrett used to destroy the Glyph. Well, if the Dissolution Serum really dissolve the blood...
Cardel on 24/6/2006 at 09:52
Yes, the disilusion serum is probably what it is. After all, I think it just cleans up the blood by making it easier to remove. Though Im having doubts as to whats in it to clean up blood so quickly.... Oh no, its Cillit Bang! :laff:
Poison Ivy on 24/6/2006 at 18:55
In the debriefing of the Cradle, Garrett mentions the vial of blood he stole from the Cradle. And in the cutscene, it's pretty obvious that it's blood, not dissolution serum. What the purpose of the pipes had been is beyond, but personally, I don't care that much.

Heh, might as well just stop picking at this unfortunate plothole. After all, its not that important, and only takes like 30 seconds to do. Hey, at least there arent any plotholes in the Cradle's story, and that takes some doing!
