Hey everyone, I'm err... a flat line .. yes :P (name subsequently changed to user1010 on account of forum rules)
Anyhow, when I started playing the cradle mission, I too was spooked like most of you other taffers were, but my scare was deeper, because the cradle wasn't the first time I had seen these enviroments!
This is what started my first round of nightmares:

Then as I had just managed to stop having nightmares about these
enviroments... I got thief 3 and played it until I hit the cradle mission :P
So yeah, kudos to the person/s who put this level together! I'm not done playing the game yet though :P

Nice nick
Wow, these are real places? I've really gotta see them, they look so.... cradle-ish. Great find!

I bet this hospital was among main sources of Null's inspiration. He said he compiled a huge reference archive of
photographs taken by urban explorers who regularly break into abandoned asylums.
Cardel on 29/6/2006 at 17:09
True, it probably was. Theres no doubting it, Null is a genious.

Although these idiots are breaking into places they shouldn't be breaking into, those pics are very useful. I don't know if they should get their arses kicked or get a big hug or something! :joke:
I love those old buildings. If i was rich, i'd probably buy one.
Wow, (

Xenith on 29/6/2006 at 18:47
yeah those are cool :). It would be some thing if they found the remains of a flash bomb there:joke:

Well, I must admit that this level in particular is extremely well crafted, it sort of gave a taster of how a horror game in a first person view could be if it were executed properly.
When I'm done, one of the places I'd love to go expert on is the cradle! :D
(albeit being scared out of my damned wits)
Anyhow about the nick, it's not allowed to have that, so my name will be changed pretty soon into something else.
But hey, rules are rules :D

Boo-urns to the nick name change...
And man this is great photography in a lot of cases, really nice shots. I'm not one to believe in ghosts and whatnot, but I'm certainly not going to go out of my way way and break into these places, these people have got some serious stones

Urban exploration can be like an adrenaline sport, they sometimes do it for the sense of thrill and constant danger following their steps. These places are abandoned, but often in private or state ownership, walled off with "No trespassing" signs, guarded by security guards or dogs. They like the feeling of doing something forbidden, explore dangerous territory. Often it's at the border od legality, no doubt. They're like modern Garretts, lone conquerors of long lost places.
