The pagan woman near in the big room with the pillar in the middle refuses to die.
Should I have kept the "ancient hammer" and tossed it at her or something?
Is there a special way of killing her or something?
Why are these types of FMs the most enjoyable :erg:?

The pagan woman in the pit can only be killed with Lord Dethstayj's infamous set of indestructible arrows. I shot 120 fire arrows at her and she did not go down.
I came close to completing Shadows of Darkness without hints, but sadly, I missed a ship's wheel mounted on the ceiling above a sarcophagus. Strangely, I had fun playing this small puzzle mission. Visually, it is awful of course, but somehow the gameplay holds up. My final stats on Normal difficulty were 79350 of 85100 loot in 29 minutes. When I was stuck, I spent probably another 10 to 20 minutes shooting arrows at objects and blind-frobbing for hidden levers before I reloaded an earlier save.
Shadows of Darkness features a couple of "classic" elements that I have seen in other Total Crap FM Contest missions as well:
* Hideous architecture, texturing and lighting.
* Bad roombrushing, resulting in rooms without sound.
* Broken mission objectives. In this one, half of the objectives are marked as completed before you even start the mission.
* Ridiculous storylines.
* Bad voice acting.
* Awkwardly written journals and scrolls. The diary of Lord Frederick in this one was especially funny: "I'm gone oh no it's too late there pounding on my door NO! NO! N-"
