I was just wondering, when I broke into Crowley the Stonecutter's place, and heard the conversation between him and those two thug-type guys, and they go running after him and kill him, are all the NPCs supposed to get into a fight with each other, and scream bloody murder every time they see me (non-guard people included)? 'Cause it's really annoying, since all I did was listen in on the conversation and peruse ol' Crowley's journal for directions to the goods. No blood on my hands, but everyone reacts like I killed women and children in the town square at noon hour.
Is this a bug? If so, is it fixable (on X-Box)? If not, is there a way to calm the situation down a bit, so I can walk by the civilians without them freaking out at me and going for the nearest guard?
Mucho thanks,

This is a normal occurance unfortunately. I think all you can do is leave the area and come back later as far as I know. Its a bug that they never got around to fixing.

It's not even exactly a bug. It's just standard behaviour for the AI to assume you are to blame for everything bad that happens.
The way that scene plays out makes me wonder if Crowley would thank you or something if you came in to save him.

Ok, thanks for the info, guess I'll just make a run for it and not go back 'till everyone's forgotten about it.

I seem to remember trying this once, way long ago when I started but never finished the game on PC, and he just screams and runs away from you. I could be wrong, though, my memory is not the most reliable...
