Yeah, Ethan Thomas is certainly ordinary, aside from all the visions and the occasional fight in an alternative reality.

I thought it was cute, the way they tried to make such an epic battle out of two people hitting each other with iron bars:D

That guy from the Lovecraftian game "Cthulhu: Dark Corners of Earth"
He´s just a detective. Ok, he starts as a relatively famous detective praised by his fellow workers and local media but soon you see that means s*** when the amount of owerwhelming oddness and horror hits him. Soon he´s just an ordinary scared motherfucker with mental issues.

All the occult stuff didn't really sit well with me in condemned. It was like they went to all this effort to make a fantastically real-feeling combat system with real thugs really hitting you in real locations, and then the game-police came along and failed it for not having enough vengeful spirits, so they tack on some monster with sticks.

I agree. I hated the last chapter, and not least because the final fight made my PC slow down to a crawl.

I doubt I'll bother with the sequel - I hear it's way more supernatural and has a satanic cult or some shit.

From what I'm hearing that stuff actually feels a lot less tacked on than it did in the first game.
It's all moot though until it hits the PC. If it hits the PC. :(

There was an assault rifle in Condemned 1.
