Well I think everyone can agree that leaking a product to the public before the original developer is even able to release it is crossing the line. It just isn't right. I think if I were the CEO of a game company and I was building the hottest new shooter game, I would make sure every build of the product except the final one only gives the player a pair of chopsticks to defend himself with.
Only problem is, then you'd see tuns of videos on Youtube of people showing off their 1337 skills by beating a leaked copy of my game with just the chopsticks. I guess you just can't win.

dethy, I'll usually back you on most things, but you really gotta give it up on this vendetta against LS.

you're probably right, he's not capable of learning and remains oblivious to the fact that he's not well-liked and is a miserable excuse for an aggressively-accelerating flying flaming skull
so it's probably pointless, but man it felt good to finally put down
oh well, i'll go do something else then

How would you test or balance a game when you only have access to chopsticks?

Using one chopstick as a fulcrum.

How about guerilla development? Keep each level in a little compartment build with no other parts of the game :p.

For those interested, (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhKyTQP7Gmk) here's a pretty nice gameplay vid. First 25 minutes, includes intro, the guy plays with mouse and keyboard and has a (mostly) functioning brain. I wouldn't trust the "max settings" tag line myself but who cares, it's just graphics.
The cover is not sticky, it's just contextual, when you get close and press ADS your character peeps over it. I like this.
The armor modes also seem to not be as automatic as I thought.
There are also PDAs in the form of laptops, and the radio chatter which was in first Crysis.
And the story is a pretty big surprise.

That first area's nice and wide open in that video. Looks like nothing of the core gameplay systems in the original Crysis was compromised either. And if that's DX9, it looks spectacular.
I don't know about the story (skipped through after the intro right to the gameplay) but that was never Crytek's strong point, so as long as the systems and spaces allow for a similar freeform tactical blend as the original, I'm getting this on day one.

You know how sometimes you play games and complain that certain areas feel disjointed, there are glaring plot holes from one to another, or have a great varying in quality and difficulty?
