I don't like the auto-nano functions at all. sprint drains energy, jump drains energy. They sure could have found a better way to make them seperate from the suit and still make them fit on a gamepad. But I love the mantling. Apart from that it's MW2 and that's just boring. They should have focused more on the SP.

I don't mind the energy sapping the sprint and superjump. I always found endlessly sprinting in MP boring nonsense anyway (they did it right in Red Orchestra and it was what ruined Thievery/turned into a hack fest).
The graphics are pretty good, nothing special with too much bloom.
Yes, there are almost no gfx options - resolution and v-Sync on/off is all.
The team deathmatch game is as dull as the next team deathmatch. Meh.

It might make sense in Red Orchestra or Battlefield, but this is essentially CoD - it's super fast, maps are tiny so you rarely live for more than 30 seconds, and as soon as you put your crosshairs over someone he's already dead. Introducing a limited sprint in this environment is like introducing a speed limit in F1 racing.

I found the demo to be a much better experience after using this (
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1776333) config utility. Basically it does changes through commandline parameters.
I increased the FOV to 100 (it's at some ridiculously narrow/low value like 65 by default, which is designed for TV + lounge experiences); disabled motion blur (so now you still have your complete peripheral vision in Armour mode); disabled bloom (lessens the glare on the "Skyline" map); disable mouse acceleration; enabled hold ADS (there's only toggle ADS natively); disabled unskippable start-up movies.
My experiences with the demo:- It's a high quality CoD4 MP clone (and it's frankly better than the last three CoDs). Hit detection is flawless. The engine optimisation is amazing.
Auto-aim is on by default in the game menu, fuck you Cevat.
Koki on 4/3/2011 at 13:53
The auto-aim only works if you're using a pad though. Even if you have it Enabled and are using the mouse, it does nothing.
People on Steam forums report that it's stupidly good - to the point that with a pad can own almost anyone.

That's good to know. Still I want to kick the shit out of Mr. Yerli for all his lies concerning the PC version. Hype up all of the DX11 rendering stuff for YEARS and then you ship the engine's flagship game without it.
Default of a narrow ass console FOV, with no native adjustment option; no native graphics customisation options; etc. Even the king of console games, CoD:Blops offers PC players all of those options.
Also I had to google what "Gamer", "Advanced" and "Hardcore" meant. I felt like I was staring at a fucking Star Bucks menu, with their Venti crap. What was wrong with Low, Medium and High?

I've been trying to play the Crysis 2 PC demo for 2 days now. I haven't even managed to get an account mycrysis.com registered yet. It tells me that I already have an account but when I enter the "forgot password" details I never receive a "new password email". And sometimes it tells me to go right ahead and register but then the site just hangs and I never get anywhere.
*sigh* I'll try again next week when maybe their servers aren't so busy. I'd really like to see how the PC version compares to the 360 one.

Register for a login through the game itself, not mycrysis.com.
henke on 4/3/2011 at 14:21
When I tried to do that it told me that my email was already being used and redirected me to the site. I guess I do have some sort of GameSpy account from years ago. Hmm, maybe I should just go to gamespy and retreive my old password.
edit: uuuhhhhh ok now I've found out what my "username" AND what my "nickname" at GameSpy are, and what my password is. But when I try to log into Crysis2demo using my nickname its says that it's too short DESPITE BEING NINE FUCKING CHARACTERS LONG and when I try to log in using my username the login screen vanishes for a second and then comes back. No error message or nothing, it just plain and simple doesn't let me in. Jesuschrist, shit like this is why I switched to consolegaming in the first place. Fuck this.

EDIT:- (
http://img40.imageshack.us/g/2tweak.jpg/) The difference is amazing. Fuck bloom screwing over my long distance shooting.
Agreed, Gamespy has always been shit, but you'd be in denial to pretend that console gaming isn't hampered by similar sign-in crap on occasion.
XBLA game DRM comes to mind. I can't take my 360 HDD to my mate's place and play my XBLA games on his console offline. The games specifically are tied to my console, so I need online authentication to play them on any other machine - without moving the licenses wholesale to another console. Xbox 360 downloadables can only be tied to one console at a time.
