i played it in 8 hours on "normal".
Why? The game isn't challenging on Delta, as long as you use cloak mode effectively.

i replayed some levels, especially "from hell" or what it was called. and of course I made it my habit to invade camps, set timers, scale a hill and remotely detonate it. that takes some time :) but never gets old.

i didn't try out other voiceovers but now that I know they're there I will replay in hungarian as well.
You speak it, or just out out of cusriosity? :) Anyway, I played some parts of the game in hungarian, and while the actors do a good job, the translations themselves are very stupid sometimes. Still, it's a good effort, though I'll stay with the english version.

I'm currently assaulting the airport and the game crashed... for the third time, when quicksaving. So I'm using this moment to eat and write something, since I'm pretty sure it's the end of the game.
To be honest, I have no idea what the hell everyone were so crazy about. The game feels much smaller, there is a lot less enemies. Other than crashing when you quicksave, the AI has serious problems with working sometimes - enemy soldiers just stand in their default positions like lemons. When I was assaulting the harbor, after the dude said he'll leave he was just circling aimlessly around.
The story is seriously out of the ass and presented like crap as well(Happens when you're suddenly stopping and thinking: "Wait. What the hell is my current objective, anyway?"). The whole thing about... ummm... let me check the wiki... O'Neill and friendshit and blah blah blah and what the fuck is Code Blue, anyway? More importantly, who cares? All this is a very bed case of LOOK EVEN THOUGH HE'S NICKAMED PSYCHO HE HAS FEELINGS AND RULES AND SHIT, ALRITE? THAT'S HOW MANLY HE IS.
Some really bad design decisions too, most idiotic was obviously the train sequence, closely followed by the escort mission - where the escorted dude drives ahead of you. The fact that my character was being knocked out every forty minutes on average was lame too. That korean dude escaping in his snowmobile(hauling something which looked like at least two tonnes) three times wasn't much better.
I couldn't care less about the new weapons to be honest, because they're not really useful or interesting. Grenade launcher would be good for killing the nanosuits - except they were made much weaker, to the point where you can take them out with one shotgun shell. EMP grenades help a bit, but it's perfectly possible to not use any at all. Small aliens were made dumber for some reason(They were all over the place in Crysis, here they just stand and do nothing, or is that more AI fubarness?), and the big aliens were made twice as tough for some reason, means they're just a chore since their ray of death doesn't deliver at all. And why the Hunter/Exoskeleton, which in original Crysis had to be treated with some sort of infobomb and then took about ten rockets in the face, now is made out of paper? And it's weapon is as lethal as blind man throwing rocks at you?
Malleus on 6/10/2008 at 16:56
The train sequence is optional. Just jump off at the beginning and sneak through the level. The escort stuff was indeed stupid though.
The AI things you mention is interesting, because I didn't have any AI problems, I thought it was even better than in the original, definitely no bugs or failures. I guess got lucky with this then...?
Anyway, you're playing on Delta, right?
Koki on 6/10/2008 at 17:27
Yeah. I didn't know about the train, they told me to follow it, so I pewpew'd everything with the autocannon on it. Died about dozen times too. Next time I'll just let it go.
And don't treat my post like a review; it's just a complaint list. Plus, Warhead's gameplay is pretty much same as Crysis', and I'm not really in the mood for Crysis right now, so I couldn't really tell you whether it's good or not.
I definitely prefer Crysis though, it just felt more... wrapped up? Complete? Polished?

i found crysis' gameplay to be too uninteresting for those large open spaces so I enjoyed the more enclosed setpieces in warhead. didn't have ai problems but a bug at the endfight. the story was exceptionaly bad but fitted crysis' one in lameness pretty well. I somehow enjoyed the overblown dialogues for their cheesiness. I'm much more a fan of far cry's goofy mercs than crysis' seriouss soldiers and warhead somehow reminded me of that.
well, keepin fingers crossed for fc2

I found the game mildly interesting, but I'm really not seeing anything special as far as optimization.

Just finished Warhead (after beating Crysis a second time, so I'd remember the story setting).
All I can say is that if you like action, it's good, but if you want story and intrigue, look farrrrrrrrrrrr elsewhere. Some of the dialog is so bad, and characters so cheesy, it's entertaining to play with friends.
I like the Penny Arcade about the original Crysis, where they said something like "Sir, we've lost contact with the writers! We'll have to improvise!" "Okay... ...We're not alone here!"
Warhead is a little more serious-sounding with the military-style radio chatter, etc, but still written by a flock of chickens. Also, Psycho thankfully had a less cringeworthy personality than I was expecting (thought he was a TERRIBLE choice of main character when I first heard about the game), but he's still down there with Marcus Fenix when it comes to the calibre of writing that comes out of his mouth.
Koki on 14/10/2008 at 05:14
I actually preferred the old Psycho.
