So far I'm really liking the challenge of this mission, but I need some help escaping from Bafford's. Where is the key to leave?
I haven't been to the watch station yet! I tried to pick the door but then gave up. Then I arrived at the gallery, chuckled at the names of the paintings and statues, then left via the front door by sneaking ever so slowly past the mechanist robot. I followed the path around and as a guard walked past me and I was leaning against the wall I found myself completely stuck. I jumped and I was stuck a little higher, jumped again and I teleported into the house, ticking off the objective to get inside.
I wondered whether it was meant to work like that because I ended up right next to a window on the first floor. :laff:
I've totally been ghosting and I need a sword.
Esme, so............ are you still thinking about making more? I'm enjoying this so far.

Where is the key to leave? It's been awhile but I'll see if I remember.
Have you found the seneschal's room yet with the board with all the keys? One of those should get you out.

Apologies, I think I already might have it then. But now I can't figure out how to get close enough to that gate without getting busted. I'll just try and rush it I think.

You can always just go out the back door and jump in the well. Provided you've unlocked the grate back in the city square in front of the city watch station.

getting out of the front door could be a little exciting, as there's three armed guards between you and a locked gate on the other side of it, not to mention the house patrol and the large marble floor you need to cross to get to the front door
and you are the first person to ever break in that particular way and no you shouldn't have been able to do it, you may not be able to complete the mission now
as for a sword, well remember the city guards ? they are pretty well armed they must have somewhere to keep nice sharp things like that
and it sounds like you haven't found a blackjack either, you really don't want to be in the house without a blackjack, it is doable I'm told but then there's the thorny problem of getting out without any weapons at all which I'm not so sure about
do you have a save from before you spirited your way through a solid wall you can go back to ?

Well, I finished. I bolted out the front door, used the key, and ran to one of the houses near the beginning and hid in the bath, so you can complete the town-house without anything from the armoury, or the blackjack. I only used 1 moss arrow which I found underneath a cart.
I didn't realise that it wasn't meant to be that hard. :cheeky:
It would have been easier to finish if I'd have opened the lock on the well first. Front door was intense.

well I'm impressed, I really thought you were going to get a good kicking by the front gate guards ... must make them faster next time :ebil:
and no it wasn't meant to be that hard, contrary to the opinions of the beta testing guys I am not really a sadist
did you find any secrets, or the blackjack, or Mrs Wheedle's wedding ring ?

I've got two words for you: Lawn chair

if I could have found a model or figured out how to build one in time for the competition there would have been one for each of you, with your names on and a table and drinks .... you wouldn't have been able to get to them though :ebil:
hmmmm maybe I am a sadist :o

Just finished this mission. It was frustrating at the beginning to have to operate without equipment, but things began to pick up after finding the blackjack. Overall, I found this to be a pretty enjoyable little mission. The number of keys did feel a bit like overkill, though; I understand that for those who like to play Perfect Thief, it was nice to be able to lock every door afterwards, but for those of us who don't, having 10-15 keys, most of which you didn't really need anyway, are just inventory clutter. Having a separate key to each door felt rather unnecessary, anyway - especially in a relatively small place like Abernathy's, one or two keys would have been enough. Still, I'd rather have too many keys than spend time hunting one that's preventing me from progressing in the mission. ;)
Also, Tulip's diary and the associated objective were bugged for me. I wasn't able to drop the diary - attempting to do so would simply make it float in mid-air. Sometimes I was able to pick it up again, sometimes I wasn't, but no matter where I tried to drop it, I couldn't get the objective to tick off. :(
