This map is truly three-dimensional in the sense that you cannot simply walk through it, you must find your way around things and obstacles such as locked gates, guards and cold-in-pit-of-stomach jumps over chasms. I felt every single aspect of this mission was carefully planned and designed, not a single location locks rushed. What defines the classic Thief experience for me is that you have the City, a believable steam-fantasy gameworld where you go breaking and entering houses of rich people, while at the same time there are dark forces lurking in the hidden areas of the vast metropolis. The main objective of Unbidden Guest covers the first part but there is also the optional objective that leads you into said hidden areas of the City. Those parts reminded me very much of the classic fan mission Autumn in Lampfire Hills. I wonder if that mission, besides the original Thief 2 demo, was one of the major influences during the design process of Unbidden Guest. There is even a eference to Autumn in one of the readables. Nevertheless I want to adress two minor aspects of the mission which in my view could still use some work. Firstly, I could hear the underground trap in the crypts still firing after I had returned to the streets. Realign the room brushes if possible. The second one concerns the placement of guards in the mission. I missed the sense of having to carefully plan my progress since there aren't enough on the Thieves' Highway for my taste, at least on Normal difficulty. Otherwise I must say, this is one of the most enjoyable missions I have played in the last twelve months.

Abandoned keeper compound? Where is that? That must be the loot I missed...
As you first enter the alley with Ysm's lab, look high and right for another balcony.
Any hints as to what the books are for? I've tried
placing them on the pedistal with the mist upstairs but nothing happend.

Is the
seminary the place where are the tombs? I don't get where are the machines to sabotate.....Hint Tombs:
The tombs are through a secret entrance in Ysm's garden. Only the lowest tomb can be entered.Spoil Tombs:
Light the torches next to the statue in the garden with teh fire arrow found in Ysm's lab. In teh tombs jump on the pedistal for a few seconds, but jump off before the booby trap fires. Then the lower tomb door is supposted to open.Machines:
The machines are in a lab in the seminarySpoil Machines:
Middle floor. There's a key in the Sanctuary? Sorry don't remember. But its in the seminary somewhere.Still waiting on some help with the books please.

I read that some people stand on the pedestal for a few seconds and then jump off. I should add that I basically dumped all the stuff I didn't need anymore (scrolls, keys, tools etc.) on the pedestal and then waited for
the hidden door to open. This had the side effect of the trap firing indefinitely.

.....But I don't know what the seminar is..............
