Thanks R Soul! I didn't solve the crayman puzzle because it didn't seem like I really had to because all the other objectives were completed. I'll go back into the mansion to solve that.
thanks!

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned the logbeast, surely I'm not the only one that found it.
Excellent mission, I ended 200 short so I'm going back in to have another look.

I put that logbeast there after one of my beta testers got up there.

I just replayed this one today. Again I say...just a highly polished gem of thiefy goodness. Fuod's little buddy came in handy after ghosting about for much of the time. Sometimes it's just fun to make your presence known! Got all the loot and all the secrets.:D

Wait, did that thing serve a purpose? I didn't try using it for anything! Everybody is 'sleeping' in my save game, guess I'll have to restart and find out. :p

I just played this mission for the first time, damn it was awesome ! I loved everything about it.
Simple architecture yet very well made and full of well thought details. Great work on lightings and textures.
A good mix between Assassins and Trace the Courrier, with a few things reminding me Ramirez and Gervasius manors. I even found all the secrets and all the loot in my first playthrough.
That was brilliant. :thumb:

OK I need help at the beginning of the mission....I CANNOT FIND A WAY INTO THE MANSION! EDIT: I FOUND IT! It is in the architect room in back and in there you look under a table and it will open a bookcase nearby.

This mission was a very pleasant surprise. The mansion layout is twisty and claustrophobic with lots of small rooms. I expected the difficulty to be on the low side since it's imitating original Thief, so I tried ironman style, and the layout works really well for that because it's easy to get surprised by guards popping through doorways unexpected. There's good tension between leaving the doors open so you can hear their footsteps echoing down the halls vs. keeping the doors closed to hide your own noise. I also replayed it and tried ghosting, so imagine my surprise when I found that Ramsford is scripted to realize when the gem is stolen and trigger the alarm! Didn't expect that in an old-school mission and it made for a fun escape.

Did you remember to close the chest's lid after you'd taken the gem?
;)
Wormrat on 19/10/2018 at 02:23
Ha, no. I don't think I've ever purposefully closed a chest after looting it (I leave them open as a visual reminder) in all my years of playing Thief. Awesome detail, lesson learned, loved your mission.
