I was reading about H. P. Lovecraft on Wikipedia and in the article "Cthulhu Mythos in popular culture" I found this:
# Thief: The Dark Project: On the level entitled The Lost City, towards the end, there can be found a giant statue of Cthulhu partly sunken in lava. When the statue is approached, the character Garret whispers "Creepy..."I've never noticed this (well I only recently got interested in Lovecraft's work), and won't be able to check it out till weekend (don't have Thief I on this computer). Could someone post pic of this statue? I'm not sure where it is or what does it look like.
Here's the link to that page:

I can't get to my Thief installation right now, but the Cthulu statue is a robe-wearing humanoid thing with tentacles (that looks kind of like a beard) hanging down from the pointy head, red eyes, with stubby wings coming out the back. You see it after finding one of the Keeper medallions, where you have to skirt a sloped ledge around a lava pool (the statue is standing in the lava) in order to climb up a gatehouse-type building along one side, before you get to the Fire Tower.
You can also see the statue in the "KD site" mission of TMA, I think. A smaller version of the statue is the main objective in the FM "Lord Edmund Entertains" (the first FM to use fan-made voice acting and well worth playing again). I've seen it in several other FMs too.

Can't get you a pic now, but I can describe it to you. Picture a large white octopus on the shoulders of a white angel's body. That's pretty much it. Except for the menacing red eyes I cannot remember anything unusual.

I've never noticed that before, and I've been into that Nazi cunt Lovecraft for 20 years.

Has anyone played Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth? I've been reading up on it and it seems like a decent game, especially for stealth and atmosphere fans like we all are.
