@Tocky, I'm in Fort Worth TX these days, although I go back and forth, so it may depend on when you'd be coming through. Just let me know.
Fort Worth is dust and chaparral and an old girlfriend that I wouldn't know what to say to. But I would like to meet and tilt one back and stare at the night sky as we lie on lawn chairs and ponder flying through space on a piece of soil as two sentient specks if you are up to it. Or a mellow smoke and some wine if you want. I'm easy. But I would like to meet. Life is such a strange thing. And it goes so quick. When you feel a person will be an addition to the experience it is best to take it. Not sure when I will go just now but I hope soon. The fortieth anniversary is soon.
Anyway here is Bowie in a place I've been and it kills me I've missed as it will never happen again though I will think of Dena and the time we had here when AC-DC came through.

My God what a beautiful man. Unforgivable that I never saw him in person. That voice. That personality. That will never be again. Bowie was spectacular. He will never be again. How could he have been among us to begin with? We do not appreciate our greatest gifts until they are gone.

I wish we still had bubblegum pop. It was so carefree. Imagine it's 1972 and the family has piled into the car driving to the beach and your little brother has already blown up his float and your sister in the front seat finds a DJ out of Memphis named Super Shan on WHBQ who plays this. The sun is shining and you are 11 and all is right with the world.

You are even certain you will find a girl who makes you feel like this one day.

Willie Nelson turned 90 today.
I think my fave song of his is this one, from 11 years ago. He was a spry, young 79-year old whippersnapper when he made this tune with Kris Kristofferson, Jamey Johnson, and Snoop Dogg.

Gordon Lightfoot died today. I hate that. I loved a lot of his songs but this one best. It was written like the best passage out of great book.

When I heard the news the first thing I did was go listen to that very song again too. What a storyteller! He honored the men involved in that tragedy in a special kind of way, I thought. So many of his songs were special like that though.

My compliments to Mrs. Davis. In an episode otherwise a bit too bloated, a beautiful track, perfectly placed.

Oh he didn't just honor them. He gave the royalties from that song to their widows. A very generous gesture. It must have made a mint. I love those who aren't motivated entirely by money.
