Hello Fellows,
This is with pleasure that I will release a new little set of animations for the spiders.
Fed up with the classical spider which wander in the ground waiting for you and your arrows?
Now, with this set of animation, spiders will enjoy to use for once their websac to ambush the unwaried such as a real hungry hunter spider!
(It will work like a tree-like treebeast but sneakier...)
Some instructions are offered with the ZIP. You can add your own personal touch! It's just a suggestion from me ;)

And a little video to show you the effect in-game:

This looks fantastic! Many thanks :)

Good work. I wouldn't want to find them hidden in my organic bananas.
FireMage on 27/10/2014 at 10:13
Lol! Yeah the famous story of the bananas spider! x)
Also, thank you dudes! ;)
I think that I'll hardwork now for a couple of time on the motions. There are many things what havn't been explored in Thief about motions, and this is pretty too bad... :/
Some other videos and custom motions may come soon or later. ^^
Thank you again!

Nice.
I remember a complicated setup for spiders in a demo (NV?). I guess yours is much easier then.
FireMage on 27/10/2014 at 12:07
I don't know if such thing exist and how it is... ^^"
But yeah, mine is not very complicated, the motion do all the trick. The rest is just to help the spider to know when and how it may leave it web string to attack you! ;)
If motion makers wants a piece of advise:
It seems that DarkEngine applies the gravity to creatures each frames
-If you want a creature stuck in the air which is not an apparition, you must create an idle with only one frame to force the creature to ignores gravity
-If you give to your creature a motion with frames where the creature is placed far away in the air, it will just reduce gravity attraction but the creature will still going down

I've watched the video preview, it looks really cool! Looking forward if I could use it in my FM... :thumb:
