One of the translators for my upcoming mission wants to know if he needs to replace the Latin font (carolus24_aa) with a Cyrillic one. Or will it work? I'm thinking it won't but am unsure.

Any custom fonts included in missions need Cyrillic replacements for Russian, as the Russian translations use an incompatible encoding. I also checked the version of Carolus bundled with NewDark, and it indeed includes only Latin characters. If you want to avoid making something new, the version of fontaa29.fon in the Russian T2 translation is a reasonable size match for Carolus, so it could be used as the substitute.
