Hi all. I did do a search for this because I'm sure it is somewhere but I'm not finding it, so here I go to you all for help:
I have been working on Mag Estates 2 and am using custom textures. I put the textures in the Fam folder in their own folder (for example: oldwood). I then add the folder to my menus config file. It shows up on the editor just fine and it textures fine. However, when I save the build, exit Dromie and then open the build again, the texture is gone and only Jorge is there. This also happens with the DEDX textures. I know I am missing something here. Is there somewhere else I need to add the textures? Does it matter that I haven't put them in any material categories yet? I just don't understand how the texture can be present in the texture preview window, how it can paint the brushes just fine (and appear in game mode), but then it's missing after I close the editor.
It has to be something to do with Missing files because I have tons of things showing up under "Missing" in the Object Hierarchy - including all the DEDX textures, my custom textures and even things like the frogbomb and donuts. I am doing something very wrong here...

Did you save the gamesys?and set the gamesys go your mission?
If you're adding new custom stuff to your game (in your gamesys) it should be saved there and the new gamesys has to be set to your mission
Otherwise when you restart your mission will use the old gamesys(without the new stuff)

Just save as a .cow file while you're working on the mission, then when you're ready to give it to testers or other non-Dromeders, and again for release, you should save the .gam, set the gamesys, then save the .mis and include those instead of the .cow in your ZIP file.

Just curious, what does this line mean?

He means that he added the option in his menu for DromEd to load his custom family.

Try renaming the texture, and don't use a name that exceeds 8 characters, and do not use underscores combined with the name. A lettered name should be sufficient.

when I return to the mission after shutting down Dromed and I get only Jorge, the texture I used is not even in my texture list - as if I never used it.
If you don't mind me taking a look on your actual computer I can remote connect. It's VNC, it serves up your desktop to me, at which you can disconnect at any time. I use it to repair PCs over the net. I will be up late so you can use it when ever, it will call my pc. You don't have to install anything for it to work, just run a exe I will send to you through a PM. Learn more about it here: (

I am just learning this texture stuff myself, the link nightshifter posted was my questions. Either way I may be able to help and I know it's hard to get help on here sometimes.
