Just installed thief gold on my new computer and wanted to spruce it up with the model and texture patches. However, when I go to oRGY's page the link to how to install the model patch is dead. Could anyone tell me how to get the Daemonites patch up and running?

it's simple. first run darkloader and let it optimize your copy of thief gold.
then you extract the contents of the texture and model packs. my installation would be thus:
c:\thiefg\
\fam <--- this is the texture pack, all the texture families (city, ancient, ramirez, etc.) are in this folder.
\mesh
\motions
\obj
these are thief2's models.
important: open up dark.cfg and add the following line:
ObjTextures16
this will force TG to use 16 bit textures instead of the usual 8. otherwise everything will look a little weird. this is especially true if you choose to use (
http://www.thiefmissions.com/models/EPBeta1.zip) nameless voice's model upgrade pack (improves a lot of the really old "prop" models such as buckets, barrels, loot, fruit, candles, handles, so on and so forth.) make sure you follow the instructions to the letter if you choose to
one last thing: look through the fam folders (specifically it's in city) and delete the file plate.pcx. the reason is that for some reason this particular texture is completely screwed up in thief gold- but is otherwise identical to thief gold's original version, so there will be no loss in quality when you delete it. proof: (

Thanks a lot, deathtool. Can you tell me also where I put the models in the thief folders?

i could. you could also spell my name right. :nono:
the thief 2 models are already in obj, mesh, and motions. just put those folders from the compressed file into your thiefg folder.

Thanks a lot dethtoll. Sorry about the name miss-spelling. (If there was an embarrassed smilie it'd go here) I appreciate the help.
