I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread put up about this. In a similar vein to (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122468) OpenMW, someone is working on a source port of the Daggerfall engine, called (
http://daggerxl.wordpress.com/) DaggerXL. Check out the videos.
The project seems to be moving along very rapidly, probably owing partly to the age/simplicity of the original engine. I'm pretty excited about it, I never managed to play Daggerfall, and it looks pretty sweet.

Unless you're a hobbyist programmer who's planning to contribute or the like, this project can be considered vapourware, until it's in a fully playable state - if it ever even reaches that point.

EvaUnit's post above posits an intriguing question: has he, in his quest to out-argument Koki,
become the very nemesis he seeks to destroy??
I call to attention
* The randomly dropped article in the first sentence.
* The (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=127265&p=1872116) declaration that all mods/projects in progress are 'vapourware' until they reach completion.
Could it possibly be true? Is this
just the beginning of a clone Koki army? Will General Gaming be doomed to rampaging Kokism? Find out, forums fans, same time, next post!

In retrospect it was a really stupid thing to say, let's move on then.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

I'm more interested in Lucius' other project, DarkXL. A Dark Forces engine replacement. He's far along on that one.
