I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread put up about this. In a similar vein to (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122468) OpenMW, someone is working on a source port of the Daggerfall engine, called (http://daggerxl.wordpress.com/) DaggerXL. Check out the videos.

The project seems to be moving along very rapidly, probably owing partly to the age/simplicity of the original engine. I'm pretty excited about it, I never managed to play Daggerfall, and it looks pretty sweet.

I call to attention

* The (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=127265&p=1872116) declaration that all mods/projects in progress are 'vapourware' until they reach completion.

I'm more interested in Lucius' other project, DarkXL. A Dark Forces engine replacement. He's far along on that one.
