[spoiler]smash a symbol again and it'll change. The first blue scarab is near the place you found Twitty's journal, the second one is IIRC on the level below, somewhat east of the stairs in a turn to the south.[/spoiler]

I can't work out what to do in the real king's throne room. The only thing that would probably give me a clue is a book in that skeleton's hands... but it doesn't show up when frobbing it!
