Heh, I LOVE those scarab mines. New thing I did this time around: drop a mine some place, run out and get a bunch of monsters to chase me and lead them to the mine. Stand back and watch the fun. Much faster and less tedious than whacking them one by one.
Now, on to suicide mode!

I agree, the scarab mines are great! But somehow I always sneaked around in the shadows, even on Duke Nukem:tsktsk: I can't abandon the thief play-style, so I went ahead to Suicidal/Nightmare and it was easier than expected.
This mission is very good for a replay, not too long and the different play-styles offer enough variation to make it interesting again.:D

Yandros,
This is an amazing mission; I usually hate undead, but this mission rocked.
The only thing I was violently smacking my head against the desk about
was the sequence which bob_doe_nz revealed, so thanks to bob for that.
I originally took Yandros' egg hint incorrectly, linking it to the screen turning
red after the mission is completed. However... I was able to find it, and
it was hilarious as well as traumatizing. It's a hard jump.
Once again, excellent.

Even though this FM is great, I'm still having trouble remembering where I've been. I was standing in one of the larger crypts, and a skeleton on patrol stopped and started spasing (sp) out like it was getting shot over and over again. :D I saw the same thing in another large crypt.
Anyway congradulations Yandros for another FM well made. :thumb:

I can't get the air talisman. I'm getting gased all the time. I've tried every crouch and running tactic. I've read a couple of instructions on this thread but still i'm not able to make it. Is there somebody who can give a very detailed instruction of how to not get gassed? Espessially how to avoid the first jet so that I will at least be able to make a save. What point in this room do I have to reach first so that I can have a moments catch of breath.

Ghosted it on Nightmare Suicidal. About 58 minutes, taking the long way. Sure makes it easier to have played through it once.
Seemed like after getting the idol
the way out was much easier than on Garrett Nightmare.
And I still haven't found the Easter Egg. Help?

Brynolf: Crouch and walk under the first gas jet, then once past it you can stand up the rest of the way. Turn left, run and jump the gap, and then the second jet is just a matter of timing. Start running through it just as it turns off and you should be fine. Most people quicksave after jumping the gap so they can load if they mistime the second gas jet.

Yandros,
I've tried crouching and walking many times. I frob the air symbol standing right in front of it, in front of the cascet. After that I turn around on the spot, crouch and walk. Just a couple of steps later I'm dead. I'm aware of a gas stream coming from the right hand a bit up on the wall. If I try to stay by the air symbol and crouching after frobbing it, I die. Has anyone else had this problem. I'm playing on expert. Other than this it was quit enjoyable so far. I could get mission complete but would like to get all the gold,
Brynolf

I misunderstood you when I posted this yesterday, until I saw your other thread. No one that I know of dies as soon as they frob the air placard - the directions I gave above assumed you were having problems navigating the path to the talisman.
Unfortunately I haven't had time to look into this today, but can look at the mission tonight. It might help me, though, if you could ZIP up your save game and email it to me, so I can see if it happens for me as well. I can also load it into Dromed and look at what's going on in that room in your saved version.

It sounds to me like he's talking about dying when the particle bridge disappears as you grab the talisman - a place which took me several reloads to avoid taking damage because that bridge is too high.
IIRC I had to jump onto the edge of either tombstone or possibilty the air placard itself, just as the bridge disappeared, to avoid damage.
