Why did you resort to guessing? The 'combination' is spelled out in several of the readables you find.
I spent a long time trying to work out the combination from the book, but I never found that hidden map room, so of course I couldn't figure it out.
Strangely enough, I'm sure I tried that combination for other reasons:
* Fire in the east, because that's where the sun rises.
* Air to the north, because that's where it's really cold, and cold winds come from there.
* Water to the south, because it's warm to the south, at least in the Northern Hemisphere.
* Earth to the west, because that's the last compass point left.
I wonder if I just assumed the combination was wrong because there's no way to know if you got it right unless you're in the southern room?
Might I suggest adding some type of sound effect when you get the combination right, if you're making a v1.1?
Also, I just finished it. Nice job, Yandros!

That's not a bad idea I suppose, but v1.1 has already been sent out to hosters. It has the language patch from above plus a change to the readme; I omitted Shadowspawn from the credits by mistake (he made the new player arm used in Suicidal mode). I intentionally located the teleporter next to one of the placards, and in fact the last of the four that the player comes to through normal movement through that level, with the thought that the majority of people will do them in that order. And I congratulate you on deducing the combination using only the book; Griffin did the same thing during beta testing.

No, probably not if you have the overhead map. Nobody deduced it from the book in Beta 2, but there was no map to refer to either.

I played it, and enjoyed a lot the Duke Nukem mode, great mission Yandros.
Before sending out (or is it too late) V1.1, could you wait one or two days more ? I discovered in the french version there were a few objects which weren't translated (the crown and the special mines), there are several issues in the objectives and menus (due to accents...) and it seems you didn't check back the readables as I suggested you to do so ;) : some text disappears in the end of one or two readables (like in explorer01 for example). I'll fix it when I'll have time
But there is one major bug : the journal near the real Bone King has no text, simply because in DromEd you put "Bkbooks02" as name of text instead of "Ajournal" or whatever :(

I can't find ANY secrets. And I've really looked. Some tips would be appreciated! :erg:
Also, despite the tips given here, I can't find the second map either. I've found Twitty's journal but his/her body wasn't there. Help please?
Finally, I have to say that despite the awesome atmosphere, and excellent architecture... Iron Maiden? Good god, Yandros... you could have at least put in some Blue Oyster Cult (Imaginos, especially would work), but Thief definitely doesn't work with Maiden's hideous 80s wank-metal. :nono:
Edit: Me being an opinionated sod aside (I admit it, okay?), I did notice when firing explosive arrows from angles above enemies, they have - on rare occasions - "stuck" in the air. They don't explode unless you fire another one nearby.

If you mean the journal at the foot of the sarcophagus, then that had no text in English, either.

chis,
on the top level, go back to the point where you found the jounal, then look for some blood stains nearby and locate a highlighting scarab on the floor, crawl right through the wall there. One level below, there is another of those scarabs on the floor. This time you've to jump into the wall. Return to the top floor, there are four scarabs marked on your map. Examine these rooms very carfully with your drawn bonecrusher to see some objects slightly highlighting. Give them a nice stroke with bonecrusher.
Great mission, very entertaining and, being a rocker myself, I loved the
Iron Maiden theme and the music from DOD, Eddie sure makes a very good looking undead :ebil:
. Not sure that qualified as a spoiler (it's more of an off topic), but just to be safe... ;)
