Thanks Sin, I'll try all that.

I also went straight through the mission . I had such a good time killing undead while listening to Maiden that finding that last glowing scarab had to wait . Then all hell broke loose and I had to run like a taffer ! Very nice mission . :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I don't normally like the undead, but the skeletons were great. Really loved the bonecrusher, and Benny finally paid his dues. Again, thanks Yandros for a great mission.:thumb:

If you mean the journal at the foot of the sarcophagus, then that had no text in English, either.
Ack! I never changed the Book Text property on that journal I guess after changing over the str files, and removed the str files from the ZIP as I thought I had purged them from the mission. *sigh*
Well at least that book isn't really important from a gameplay perspective. DrK, I did some minor French updates in the v1.1 already sent out, but didn't touch Explorer01.str, so get me the fixes when you can and I'll update this journal bug at the same time. Hopefully v1.2 will be the final? :o

Finally, I have to say that despite the awesome atmosphere, and excellent architecture... Iron Maiden? Good god, Yandros... you could have at least put in some Blue Oyster Cult (Imaginos, especially would work), but Thief definitely doesn't work with Maiden's hideous 80s wank-metal. :nono:
I like BOC too, but remember the Maiden is only used (with one small exception) in Duke Nukem mode, so I think it's entirely fitting given his character. And for the record, all but one Maiden song excerpted was from their latest album, which only came out in the US last November; the other is from 2003. :p
P.S. And don't call their music hideous... IMHO it's much more creative than 98% of the crap put out by the record companies these days.

The Benny Bomb truly rocks!
I lobbed his head onto the Bone King's throne just after a scarab mine went off (great effect, btw). Ol' Benny then whacked the marrow right out of his bony carcass! Skeletons have come a long way since that crude trap in TDP.
I didn't truly realize how fierce rent was in the City until I picked up the Crown and Kingsbane; if gem encrusted jewelry and fine weaponry are required to afford a slummy apartment, how does everyone else survive? Anyhow, it looks like you have another winner on your hands, Yandros. Thanks!
Now that I have finished the mission I can't seem to get my other missions to load. When I go in Darkloader and select another mission it acts like it is loading it (progress bar at bottom) I then get an error message that says Thief 2: the metal age has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Blah, blah, blah Please tell Microsoft about this problem. Blah, Blah, Blah debug, send error report, don't send
Anybody got any ideas what I need to do?

just finished playing, amazing fm,but i got one question
what is the explosive device used for?
other wise i got 6/6 secrets, and a bit over 5k in loot, did not want to swim for the rest :P
and i got all objectives including bonus objectives
hope to see alot more fms like that, only thing that could have made it better, would have been, instead of making all clues in readable form, would have been nice to over hear some of those skeletons in conversations
Eigenface on 4/3/2007 at 07:11
Now this is my kind of FM! For me, everything else should be in the service of creating a tense, creepy atmosphere, and this mission really drew me in and kept me on the edge of my seat. Great job.
One question.
NV, I assume earlier in the thread you were talking about hitting the panels on the walls after you unlock them with the talismans. Once you do that, what opens? I didn't notice anything, anywhere.
ffox on 4/3/2007 at 08:20
Eigenface:
Those 4 panels are on the middle level. When you do it correctly something happens in the alcove to the right of the southern one.
