So I wanted to use the dancing zombies from the Shoalsgate Station mission. I used the exact setup that was used there.
When I go into game mode in dromed not far away from the zombies, they dance as they should!
But when I start from farther away and go to that place, they don't dance, they just stand there.
What's wrong?

Try adding the M-NeverEfficient metaproperty on each zombie.

All right, just deactivated "Efficiency Settings" for them, now they dance all the time!
So I guess their not dancing when you approach from many rooms away was caused by the AI being deactivated when you're far away, for efficiency reasons, right?

Well the player starts off near the dancing zombies but they can't be seen anyway except through dromed. The efficiency settings were more important in the early days when PCs were relatively slow. In several of my missions I have all of the AI set to M-NeverEfficient because they usually had long patrol routes and I didn't want them being stuck at a distance.
