I noticed a lot of screen-tearing on the PS3 Bayonetta demo... it was actually a bit distracting.

I didn't notice any. Perhaps your TV sucks.

Well it can only display 1080i, so that might have something to do with it. Mirror's Edge similarly looks awful at that res. But other games like Uncharted, Wipeout, and MGS4 look great, so I tend to see it as a programming oversight. I assume 1080i is one of the least-used resolutions.

I've noticed on most PS3 games (even Killzone 2) that even if your TV goes to 1080p/i that the games themselves don't go any higher than 720p.
Maybe this is part of the problem? could possibly cause some vsync issues.

(
http://forum.beyond3d.com/showthread.php?t=46241) Almost all 360/PS3 games, including Bayonetta and ME, are rendered at 1280x720 (or worse) then upscaled. Uncharted is 720p too, so it probably is not the resolution itself causing the problem.

Gamespot doesn't like it, sounds like the publisher got impatient, supposedly starts out great and keeps getting worse with each ring of hell. Pity, the idea had potential.

No it didn't. It was doomed to be adolescentia from the beginning.
Fragony on 8/2/2010 at 08:52
Well I guess you saw it right.

It's so stupid, I'm surprised you don't like it. Oh well.
