Dark Engine - Oculus Rift

Wasn't able to get the dev kit for Oculus Rift, unfortunately. But I'd still love to see this happen and I still have getting Oculus Rift on my to do list. So, if no one else starts working on this before me, I'll still give Oculus Rift support for the NewDark engine a crack in the future.

I tried using old ddfix that uses dx9 with the (http://www.vireio.com/) driver, but of course, it doesnt work.

I know most of us are old and whatnot, but oculus rift is the taffing future. You all will wish to replay Thief games on the rift and it will be as exciting as playing it for the first time.

Occulus support for Thief? Hell yeah that would be great. After everything I've heard about Rift, I'm led to believe that it's really great. I just wish I could test the headset out for myself to be sure. Problem is, all of the people who have had the chance to try it out (save the people who get dev kits, I guess?) have tested non-retail versions.

The final consumer model hasn't even come out yet. By then it should be in the best shape and then maybe we can actually get a demo at a local electronics store. I'd def. check that out if it was available!

I'm so happy to see that some of you are trying to figure this out! It would be epic to be able to actually have motion tracked looking around, but regardless... even if that's not possible, this will still be a cool thing.

To feel like you're actually in that world.

Any reason why this should be any less likely to work on Thief 1 than on Thief 2? Thief 1 is my preferred game by far.

Very sad about the Oculus developer dying :(
