I can't seem to find my way out of
the Old Quarter - I have gotten back to the room which I came in to find the switch that should open the door is broken. I note other people have mentioned going back through water - I have gone from one area in the old quarter to another through water,
I assume thats not what people are talking about?
Would be grateful if someone could guide me please!
Don't think I found the hall of moans either - where exactly is it please?
Just found the way into the New Catacombs and by the sounds I think I just may have found the Hall of Moans!

You need the key to the new catacombs. It's in the secret lab.

Wow, this is a great mission. I'm really enjoying it. However, I do seem a bit stuck. I'm short about 500 loot, playing on hard. I also don't know where to use the
latch key
and I didn't get into the
magician's tomb. The lock pick didn't work so I'm assuming there's a key for that.
Can anyone help me?

Loot is located all over the place, just search for a while and you should easily find enough loot to finish the mission. Also, check my earlier post about the "secrets" in this mission.
The magician's tomb is accessible through a lose wall panel in the "hall of moans" (as I call it) downstairs.

Thanks, SinisterShadow. Looks like I missed a whole bunch of loot in the catacombs. I was trying to get out of there as fast as possible. :p

Still trying to catch up on FMs after a downtime of a few months (only 4 months behind now), just finished this, and HAD to post about how much I loved it.
This was the most T1-feeling mission I've played in a long time, complete with the edge-of-my-seat anxiety, rapid hearbeat, and creeped-out feelings reminiscent of the T1 undead missions. The ambient music was particularly mood-setting for me as well, with the only exception of the dying scream ambient which was a bit unsettling. :) The ruined look of the architecture was fantastic and unbelievably ...believable in that it seemed to match the T1 ruined city style perfectly!
Anyway, I've got this one marked to play again sometime (a rarity for me), and it seems like it might be fun to try ghosting.
Thanks VERY MUCH, Schattengilde, for an excellent playing experience! :thumb:

Although I haven't finished this FM yet, I have to chime in and say that this has to be the be the best Old Quarter mission since The Haunted Cathedral. The initial concept was a bit cheesy, but once I wandered around for a while, and esp. once I got into the Old Quarter itself, all my misgivings disappeared. The architecture is well designed, and there is that feeling of rot and decay that's very hard to pull off. Especially loved the peeling wallpaper effect... although I doubt I'll ever steel this idea -- too hard on brush count, heh. :thumb:
All in all: great!

Nice to hear that you like the style of the FM, thanks!

Yes, the architecture of the Old Quarter was really hard work, especially with my little dromed experience at that time. And the poly count was on a critical point in some areas, but with some modifications (still more work :grr: ) the FM was running stable at last.
